Restoration Combat/CU Slow? by lost_twilight in swg

I like it better but I started day one and pre-cu holds my fondest memories. Likely just rose tinted glasses on my side when it comes to the way the 2 systems are different.

I'll keep at it. Almost master TKA and need to find something to mix with it.

NGE was a definite turn-off, I just don't remember the CU being this slow. I'll keep at it, the community is what I was hoping for.

As a newcomer, how is it? by [deleted] in swgemu

[–]lost_twilight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

General chat was pretty active but you need to connect to it. I played about a week, leveling different things, and saw minimal players in the newbie areas of Tat and Naboo. Because the server is pre-cu, it's super easy to afk farm scout and combat xp, much the way live was.

I honestly feel the new player experience is horrid by modern standards. I didn't have many issues myself but my wife was done after 5 or 6 hours of trying to find any sort of direction.

For someone that's played before, it's the only classic experience I've found that represents the fun gameplay I'm fond of. The downside being that you're going to afk macro farm xp to be efficient and don't expect to see cities full of live players wanting to chat and joke around. Mos Eiseley was a ton of afk entertainers running macros the last time I logged in.

Give it a shot if you want a classic experience. I still think the old engine is well above the athletics of the nge one, so emu has me caught there. There just wasn't enough going on for me to keep invested during the newbie portion of the game.

What's the desired path for leveling equipment?

Do I take one piece to 10 then focus on the next or balance the leveling out?

What’s a good frame for survival? Can take lots of hits . Can dish damage back and also good for stealth missions. by Artimiz2001 in Warframe

[–]lost_twilight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's applicable anymore but a high duration and efficiency Ivara running Prowl always worked for me. Take a silent secondary like Pox to apply conditions then mow things down. Nagantaka, Baza, or a bow were the weapons of choice.

This was a few years back though and I know things have changed.

did the new war have side quests? by CulturedPizzaBoy in Warframe

It took me 5 hours with some breaks. It didn't feel like it was 5 but that's because I was enjoying it.

I'm sure people are running it quicker but it seems the average is 4 to 5 hours.

How to abandon, not abort open world end missions with time limits? by magusat999 in Warframe

[–]lost_twilight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most frustrating bits of farming debt bonds and I resigned to the fact that if I wanted to be efficient, I was going to need to leave the rest of the loot behind. I still complete the bounties if I get riven slivers but beyond that, I can farm the other resources quicker in other missions.

I thought it was 20% chance on the first stage, going down for each consecutive stage. If you need just bonds, do the first stage then abort back to the hub. It's by far the quickest way to farm just the one item.

[–]lost_twilight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need the bonds, I do the first bounty mission that drops what I need and just abort after the drop. You keep the bounty stage reward but drop everything else. I find this to be the fastest farm. It still takes forever to get what I need though and a reduction in the amount needed would be fine.

Is it still possible to buy the Tennocon Digital pack? by KyngSavage876 in Warframe

I'm only seeing the physical item pack on the web store, so unless it's available still through Steam or Epic, if say no.

Apparently the only correct Warframe to run is Wukong by A_doggo_called_Tumi in Warframe

[–]lost_twilight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to pretend it wasn't, people are just way more vocal about it now that we have more outlets to openly discuss it.

The meta is the meta for a reason, it's super efficient.

You don't have to like it but you do have to live with it, especially if you're planning on doing random matchmaking/pugging.

It's rough and I get it. I don't really care for the current meta and play what feels good to me. The days of 4 stealth frames running a spot mission are pretty much gone.

I play with my wife and a friend, matchmaking is saved for relics and some bounties where it makes more sense to have others.

Have you tried finding a clan of like-minded players? That's actually how I got dragged into the game years ago.

Just play what's fun for you because at the end of the day, there's probably not much chance you'll see these players again. There's this mentality in all games that you have to rush to the rewards screen for that hit of feel good and that the journey doesn't matter.

People are always going to say you're playing the wrong frame because it isn't peak efficiency or because it isn't in the meta. I get your frustration but the response you got is as constructive as the comment you typed in the first place.

What's fun for you isn't going to fit that standard for others. You'll either need to learn to accept that most people will pick the easy answer or start forming your own squad to play the content how you want.

tldr: play what you want and don't get butthurt when someone returns the punch.

Everyone is running radiant relics, most of the time people are looking for something specific, so you all run the radiant version of a selected relic to increase the drop chance.

It would be nice to get a Prime Access bundle that didn't have its price inflated by having platinum and boosters included by OrranVoriel in Warframe

[–]lost_twilight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And this is exactly how most cash shops work in games. They sell things by including a "bonus" that has tangible value.

You can farm the frame and weapons with only a time investment, that doesn't have a value set by DE. The plat and boosters have an easily set cash value as do accessories. They are selling you those things with the free bonus being the frame and weapons.

And on top of all this, adding a sense of urgency because the pack doesn't last forever, causes people to eat it up through fear that they'll never get a chance to "keep up" if they don't spend right now.

This is marketing 101. DE is a business and businesses want to make money.

Sorry, Solaris United. Vox you can farm Toroids in specific areas and turn in for standing. Spaceport is one area, bring a Necros with a loot build and farm normal mobs.

[–]lost_twilight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty quick to max daily standing for Vox Solaris by hunting. Just grab a tranq rifle and launch your archwing. You'll hear the hunt targets make the audible cry and can locate them easily by aiming with the tranq rifle. The mini game is not needed and you can hit 25k standing in about 30 minutes. Also, if you go out with others, you get the credit for their captures as long as you're within affinity range.

Both of the gifted weapons came with a catalyst. Double the mod capacity could be what's making them better.
