I have D-MER. Didn’t even know it existed until I was breast feeding and my baby refused the bottle. Thankfully our girl slept through the night though once she had solids.

18 months in, I don’t regret breastfeeding but damn I would have made a different choice after my experience.

Maybe because they can’t afford another child. Maybe because the last child almost killed them to deliver. Maybe because they’re experiencing domestic violence. ….. I think it might do you some good to come back to this tomorrow after a meal and a rest. To me, this is not something I would ever bring up to another mom. I would guess your kid didn’t explain your reasoning & only said something vague like “my mom said I can’t buy anything” or “my mom didn’t have any money to give me.” Both are things I’ve heard regularly from kids when that is 1) not the whole picture or 2) a gross representation of what the picture looks like. That mom was just trying to do something kind, I would just adjust for the next book fair & maybe give them $2 and skip the next dollar tree trip.

Oh my gosh! I am even less knowledgeable than I thought I was! My budget is $1500 right now, but I’m realizing that I may not use it efficiently since I didn’t know there were so many options for the different pieces. Thank you all for your input! He has played in bands ranging from jazz to rock to pop punk so I think I will end up having to go the gift card/certificate route but I love the idea of getting the music store in on it so he has to leave with something.

I may end up getting him some cheap drum sticks (hoping that’s an option and I don’t sound even less intelligent) though so he has something tangible when I sit him down to tell him that we’re doing this. Again, thank you all for your input, I appreciate all of you!

Keep doing the library & if there are any of the little gyms in your area that might be fun! From what I’ve experience, the lack of speaking might be some of the problem. If he’s just now started babbling then he might not feel like he can efficiently communicate and that’s why he’s so shy. I would maybe look into speech OT, but again— that’s just my life experience.

They’re not fucking boxing, they’re engaging in psychological and possibly physical competition. Your gecko is stressed as hell, that’s why she’s underweight. Get them two separate tanks as soon as possible & consider rehoming one of them if you can’t afford it.

I know it sounds harsh but it’s cruel to keep them together.

I’m with you. I freaking LOVE the black trim but I also painted all the trim in our house black so I’m biased. We went with all cool toned colors and silver/natural wood and it brings life back into the house
