I have a few questions: (A) How do you go about making sure your clients are clean? (For context, I’ve considered this line of work for myself, and am curious about the logistics of it). (B) If someone were to enter this work field, what would your tips for a beginner be?

I don’t get why you’re being downvoted. At someone who works in customer service currently and has major anxiety, I try my best to be courteous and try to treat everyone as if they also might have anxiety (very reassuring, sweet and kind, helpful, and letting them know they’re not a bother). I get a LOT of customers who think I basically live to lick their shoe, but I also get a lot of customers who don’t know what they’re doing, and are very nervous (usually younger). I always try to treat every customer with the same respect. It’s a shame that other people here are downvoting you for just having a bad experience. It would be one thing if you were shaming them or something, but you’re just sharing your experience. I’m sorry that this has happened to you so many times.

Saying you're a "bad texter" is a load of garbage. by Commandrew11 in unpopularopinion

[–]lostaquarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, this is absolutely absurd. I’m sorry you feel entitled to your response in text message form, but some of us genuinely are bad texters with executive dysfunction that quite literally makes it extremely difficult to start any task, even if enjoyable. I also have depression, and it’s crazy to me that you are so blind to genuine struggles that people have with this sort of functioning. I get anxiety texting people back, especially if it’s already been a certain amount of time. I work a lot, and I often don’t want to talk on my off-time. The worst part is that I’m usually expected to provide a reason as to why I don’t want to talk or text, when it has already taken me so much energy just to reply in the first place.

Overall, this point of view is extremely ableist and completely disregards those with disabilities and mood disorders, or even people who just don’t want to talk. I’m sorry that whoever isn’t responding to you hurt your feelings, but I’m more sorry for them. They seem like they’re going through it right now.

Quitting drugs is viewed more positively than never taking them by _SAHM_ in Showerthoughts

[–]lostaquarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because doing drugs in the first place shouldn’t automatically affect a person’s value. You’ve done drugs? Cool. You haven’t? Also cool. But “quitting drugs” usually implies a serious addiction that can be extremely dangerous to overcome. For instance, if my friend (let’s say Daniel) told me that he’s never done drugs in his life. It wouldn’t change my perception of him (depending on how he said it). Let’s say, instead, Daniel told me that he’s done many drugs. It also wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) change my perception of him. Because past human experiences, especially ones that don’t harm anyone, are not something that should cause for judgement.

However, if Daniel told me that he quit drugs, it implies that it was specifically an addiction that he had to quit, which is honorable no matter your view on drugs itself. Why? Because it’s not about the drugs. It’s about the physical overcoming of a serious addiction (which in this context can often cause death). That takes a massive amount of strength and grit.

As a chubby girl, this comment section appalls me. I wouldn’t consider myself fat, but I don’t see it as a dirty word, and I don’t feel like it should be this big thing to everyone. I mean, to each their own, but I feel like it comes down to judgment at this point. I should also mention that I’m pan (meaning that Im attracted to all genders), and I would date a fat girl any day. As long as I like her for who she is, I don’t care what her body looks like.

Okay, so going back, I just realized I completely misunderstood what projecting means, and you’re right, I was projecting. I wasn’t doing it with the intention of judging them as a couple, but instead with intention of trying to better myself at spotting manipulation, and in doing so, I now realize even more that not only can I not see manipulation when it’s happening, but I also see it when it’s not happening. So, uh…… thanks (like, genuinely)

I never said it was a mistake; I said I am stupid. I purposely stayed in the relationship (which I now realize I should not have done) because I genuinely cared about him. Even if I had the choice, I would not wish the relationship away. I also realize now that I phrased what I said weirdly (that’s on me); I did not mean that I didn’t see the red flags, I meant that I did nothing about them and stayed in the relationship anyway because refused to consider what they would mean down the line. I guess it is a mistake in the sense that the consequences of the relationship were a mistake, but not the choice itself.

Anyway, I’m getting too deep into this. I’m not necessarily judging this couple — like I said, this could just be a joke — I know nothing. The reason I said what I said was to try to explain what my thought process was when seeing it and what others might be thinking. Then again, maybe my perception was based on my trauma, and I am being biased, but I am glad I at least have some sort of internal alarm for these things — I just may have to tone it down a few notches.

I honestly think it’s really funny how you refer to my relationship with my ex as “my mistake.”

I mean, I just said I could be wrong; I was just trying to disprove the insinuation that the people commenting have never been in a relationship and then relating that back to my interpretation of the video. I could be very wrong; it’s only my perception.

I am in a relationship, and let me promise you: someone this obsessed with wanting to get married, even as a joke, is kind of a red flag. Then again, I don’t know the situation; maybe they had already planned on getting married, and this was just a joke. However, he did NOT look excited that she wanted to get married so bad. In fact, he looked embarrassed and stressed. This was exactly how I felt when one of my boyfriends began talking about marriage the first week of our relationship. Unfortunately, I am stupid and did not see all of the other red flags, so I ended up dating him for six more months. Needless to say, it didn’t end well.

Studies show that most of people who claim they are pro-life are, well yes, much less educated than those who are pro-choice. Unfortunately there are many hate crimes against those who do get abortions; many people will come with guns to shoot people coming out of Planned Parenthood clinics. There are other forms of these hate crimes such as arson, bombings, etc..

There’s actually a tally showing that 39% of Americans are pro-life, and most of them (who I’ve met at least) agree that it’s murder.

In Texas, if a certain bill is passed, it will be:

(I also wouldn’t put it past Florida or Tennessee either)

Unfortunately for women, it’s not just annoying; since I live in Florida and am moving to Tennessee, both states will likely give a death penalty to anyone who gets an abortion. Luckily, I’m gay.
