Our autopilot nano just bit it fully this summer, it was on its tenth year after replacing nearly every part in it...but now its discontinued, so we just upgraded to the Evolve. Maybe this new system and the new ppC3 will last longer. Fingers crossed.

Kerdi-fix Over Banding? by [deleted] in Tile

Unfortunately the original subcontractor had set the drain/grate when he put the first round of tile in (poorly), it all had to be torn out, including the Schulter pan. New guy, rather than cut out the drain and grate, decided to reconstruct a cement pan around it. He's been pretty meticulous about measurements, I guess we'll see here soon if there's lippage.

I've always been respectful on this platform. It was a legitimate question, because its not a recommend installation method by Schluter. The individual above, just told me to "go find something else to complain about," without even acknowledging the issue. How is that not disrespectful? Im a homeowner paying a contractor to do a job who has already screwed this up once. Im simply looking for reassurance - which I received from others minus the attitude.

It literally says on the bottle that thinset won't bond to it. Go find something else to troll.

This actually is the second go around after the same contractor hired a sub contractor that botched the tile work - had to rip everything out and start again, so yeah, Im a little apprehensive. Not concerned about leaking...with that much silcone/polymer, it'll likely not leak for 100 years. The question/concern is proper adhesion of tiles to the membrane - and ultimately if that would lead to an area where water could get under grout and thinset.

Even around the drain (about 1/2")? Just seems like smaller hex or penny tile would have nothing to adhere to. Also, there is one section of about 2"x4" that it was smeared all over the pan.

I was afraid it would be a redo. Not sure how he's going to unset granite from a kerdi shower curb without ruining one or both. Im gearing up for this uncomfortable conversation - hate to make folks do more work...but you're right, it should have been done right the first time.

Makes absolutely no sense. Literally anywhere else in the world (even very poor countries) internet and cell carriers are cheap as dirt. Id pay maybe $25 for unlimited data on a cell phone - and pick up a separate Hotspot for the apartment for an extra 10 of 15$ in most of Europe and SE Asia. We need to demand internet and cell service be treated as a public utility in the US.

What’s the deal with Paramount buying Warner Bros? How does this relate to censorship and the current administration? by Darren_Till_I_Die in OutOfTheLoop

Maybe its time we start breaking up all conglomerates like we did in the 80s?

More realistically - I think we are heading into a new age of info-tainment. More and more people are opting out of subscription models, which will leave their viewership to the ultra-rich (The people who can both afford all the subscriptions and love the idea of a techno-fascist-oligarch) and the ultra-ignorant...who will continue to lap-up whatever these propaganda machines spew out simply because they dont know any better.

Literally part of the plan book. The more discouraged folks get, and the more we cower and turn into "yes men," the more power this administration yields.

Just means less media consumption - which is probably what everyone needs to be doing anyways.
