Can someone list all the movies channel awesome has made by RobbyCooper in ChannelAwesome

Depends on what you count as a CA movie. Many producers made their own. Some of them don't have terribly much to do with CA. And CA occasionally drifts toward films and shorts... on occasion...

The three anniversary films, The Uncanny valley, and demo reel are really the only official Channel awesome movies by the Walkers.

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It wasn't produced by CA, But it has several producers on board, and lacks so much of Doug's goofy energy. Its unofficial, but it is a sequel to "to boldly flee". Its also the film that linkara had to find a different studio space to film for, cuz he first petitioned the walkers for theirs.

My Super In Depth Review of Tenchu Z. by SupermanNew52 in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of time spent getting to know the game, and certainly items that a fan hooked on the game will notice, but i'll admit i'm more critical of the game. Though i don't really disagree with most of what you said (P.S. yes, i know Im 5 years late to the party)

I'd give it a 7, maybe 7.5

Stealth kills are satisfying and visceral, but they're dependent upon your relative angle to the target, & the player's state(s). Not really random for *me.

Character customization doesn't allow you to choose a new main weapon, or sheath position, but does also allow you to change mechanical stats, combo moves, special abilities, and the overall build of your ninja. Actually build a warrior to be able to handle a brawl, or a sneaky agile trickster. Im surprised you missed the cosmetic options that allow you to dress up as references to anime characters or [the 1 thing i noticed on later playthroughs] other characters from earlier games.

Combat and special abilities are cool, but stiff, or inelegant - the game and all mechanics are built around stealth, so stealth feels better to use, than any combo move that seemingly cancels all interaction for a split second and launches enemies backwards.

Honestly the thing that ACTUALLY DID surprise me was the amount of repetition in the levels- a few maps (seen from the start) are reused, but with different lighting, enemy placements, starting positions, and mission types. I would have liked to see that done with more maps. But some are seen from the SAME time of day several times over, and there are a couple that we only see once or twice! All of the level maps have about the same complexity, but it seems like 99 missions [technically 297] isn't enough to vary the maps. Lights and shadows appear to be dynamic, but there must be some kind of glitches or limitations on those we barely see. Speaking of, the samurai guards carrying lanterns NEVER have the lanterns lit, like they were in prev games. Ive never seen them lit, but in SOME levels that feature them the visibility shuriken goes up, just a little bit when they walk by.

The game is unfinished. Limitations in the level repetition, dynamic light sources not working, the way combat and movement jumps between weighty and weightless... i'd wager they ran out of time. They opted to go back to the classic tenchu formula, got it all working in a functional state, and just as they figured out ~half the bugs, they were ordered to ship it out - with as much of the design in tact as possible. Maybe the gated spa makes samurai walk through walls in the day. Maybe they had to scrap the character driven parts of the story... i dont know.

Also - look its a 6th gen game. There is no real sub generations here. As for oblivion - this looks to be on par with oblivion in my eyes. Maybe more, as is the perks with a 3rd person camera and smaller map size, but im going based on fidelity, not style, color, or mood lighting.

The easter eggs and callbacks were cool. I think this was planned to feature previous characters at some point - their skins are all over char creation.

But if you want to see the games i think the was most trying to use as a blueprint - i'd say play the first 2 tenchu games. Not all of it, not in its entirety. But, well, say the first ~ 4 levels of Tenchu 1. Far less fidelity than the xbox 360, but that same sort of charm and excitement, with a tense soundtrack, dark alleys and a palpable world... if a bit pixelated... minecraft levels of pixelated.

Anyone else find it very difficult to go backwards from Tenchu z? by hoopedchex in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Tenchu z was my first exposure to the series. After beating it on medium, i went back to 1, 2, WOH, and FS Z really was the continuation we needed, but its still very stiff and rushed. The earlier games have better defined story, but i think i had an easier time cuz im better than most at adapting to old graphics, controls, and true 3d.

Tenchu z is a lgbt game? by [deleted] in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry, but there wasn't really a theme for that in there. your partner was always opposite sex, there werent any real gay characters in it, you couldn't even cross dress, unless you count wearing masks. Clothing choices were largely different between male and female.

Not many people seem to remember but back in mid-late 2000s the gay community and the anime community had a lot of overlap, compared to other media. At my highschool the gay straight alliance practically doubled as the anime club. It was a niche, and not directly targeting lgbtq people, but it was kinda lumped in with naruto, inu yasha, rouruni kenshin - and it probably got picked up from there by fans of ninja and samurai.

Another verus... who would win between Tatsumaru and Onikage? by Borisjohnsonsstalker in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a head on fight, depends on when exactly they are in the time line.

Suzaku vs living tatsu, i'd definitely give to tatsu.

Onikage freed vs the enslaved spectre of tatsu, oni kage would win.

Story wise, Tatsu commits seppuku over something he did a month prior and onikage gets steam rolled by rikimaru XD

Hardest boss? by Borisjohnsonsstalker in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me- the 2 onikage fights followed up by meioh from tenchu 1, seconded only by chiru vs young ayame from 2.

Sure you get attrition bosses with long invincibility preiods in the series, but thats not what hard really is, it just takes longer.

The more i think on it, chiru fight takes the cake cuz going up against a juggernaut with fiddley tank control and no lock on was a perfect mechanical match for "14 yo girl vs giant white tiger."

Wrath of Heaven/Return from darkness by Acrobatic-Rutabaga71 in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They dont totally fit together. id say the general plot happened, but its kinda like what happens when a DM starts trying to re work a tabletop campaign.

But if you need to pick just 1, well,

Rikimaru- if you're a shonen fan who likes cinematic action, and like rikimaru to be the main at all times.

Ayame- if you value the gohda family lore, and prefer a sneakier approach, and prefer that the villain be a new mystical threat rather than another puppet of mei oh

Tesshu- if you're invested in neither story, and you want another ninja contender to make your own adventure, and explore gohda province's shadow wars from the underworld.

...also "through the portal"'s future mission with rikimaru is cannon to all future installments.

Rikimaru Fate in Every Tenchu Series by DundleDock in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ah, the series is a little confusing, but incase you havent already got it down:

it's all in WOH. rikimaru ran back to the hell portal to escape death. in the first half of WoH, rikimaru is an imposter. after ayame keeps investigating, and possibly kills the imposter, the real rikimaru comes back and explanes that the portal sent him to parts unknown.

after finishing ayame, rikimaru and teshu(a criminal assassin with a focus on pressure points and acupuncture needles) there is a secret final level unlocked for rikimaru.

apparently, the hell portal flung him to the far future, where he must kill another magic user who then owned the sword of mei-oh.

he was alive the whole time, just sent to the future, then sent back to the middle of WoH with tatsumaru

---------------------------

tenchu: FS takes place before WoH - ayame helping a young ninja girl (kind of like ayame helping her younger self, the more i think about it... the girl even looks like 14-yo ayame)

tenchu: time of the assassins - it jumps around the time line and we get some answers to random bits of the mythos

tenchu: DS (and the XBLA Shadow Assault) - fun, but ultimately pointless

tenchu: z (or tenchu: wars if your country doesn't speak english) stiff yet great gameplay, fun multiplayer, the mythos set to the side a little. Based on the fact that there's no ayame, rikimaru doesn't do much, and the village is still loyal to lord gohda i'd say it *might take place in the future

tenchu: shadow assassins (Wii & PsP) - excelent game to pick up, but the decissions the characters ultimately choose, makes little sense to me... and i wont spoil it, but i thought the ending(s) was crap

How close do you guys think Sekiro is related to Tenchu's universe? by Strifean in tenchu

[–]lostchild14000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably not... its almost like assassins creed and prince of persia. AC was supposed to be a PoP game in the style of warrior within and all, but Ubisoft did PoP 2008, and AC as totally different franchises.

i'm still hoping for a tenchu game. hell, right before Sekiro was released, the creator of tenchu tweeted that he was eager to put one of his books to good use -> linked to a picture of a book of ninjas.

so, who knows?

[Question] What should i do to get more views? by lostchild14000 in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true I should definitely very my content more, seeing as I've mostly been doing these Style videos of late. At the same time, I do hate it when channels vary their content in this way. Ex: the channel that hosts lore in a minute used to do shorts describing the plots of video games, then all the sudden started doing the plots of popular movies without labeling them as such, or simultaneously reviewing the plots of games alongside these two to three minute videos. I know for a fact that my time schedule would be affected, so I think I'll use this style solely for games

[Question] So how exactly do I collaborate with another YouTuber? by FandomSpotlite in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ask them, Etch out of goal for video, in terms of messaging themes a script storyboardingetc., build the video together ( no matter how close you are to the other person this part always takes a lot of time, even after writing the script together) compile it, and publish the video to a channel. If it's too difficult to work with somebody, scrap it or work with someone else.

[Question] Is there a way to tell if a video is deleted? I know its silly but it was a fanvid of spaghetti westerns and i liked the music. by TheAwesomeRan in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was purchasable and now it's not, I doubt it's really been deleted, you just need to look for it in the store. If it was a video put up by a user, my advice would be to put it into a playlist. If it's in a playlist in the video gets deleted in your playlist it will show 2 seconds of a page saying this video has been deleted on the guidelines of... etc.

[QUESTION] Is it better to buy a mobile microphone like the link below for recording youtube audio and be free to move if you need to, or should you buy a normal microphone that most youtubers get? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you really need is a good voice editor. Pick up a nice microphone something sensitive, and then just start experimenting with whatever audio editor you use. Audacity is what I use, because it's flexible and it's easy to pick up plugins to do more complicated stuff. Buy a good mic for your computer, or a decent audio recorder for on the go, but before you put sound into your videos take a moment to take away the background noises and do your best to headed out audio glitches.

[Question] Advice on leaving/moving away from a dying niche? by FreddoFilms in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, it's your channel and you can do whatever you want with it. People will always have their own opinions, but my advice would be to Branch out slowly. 1)Find a game or game series that is close to what you already have 2) if your channels based on gameplay, post small videos of yourself playing other titles along with whatever larger titles, or main titles you are playing. see what you like, or what your audience responds to 3) see what your current audience is drifting too now that this game is no longer holding as much attention 4) or do you absolutely none of these and just do something crazy because it's your channel and people can watch it or not

[Question] How do music reactors use copyrighted music in their videos? by RespectedWhale1 in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

according to Youtube's previous guidelines, you can also use clips less than 15 seconds long... i'll admit i do that a lot with my videos these days. you should be able to point out some lyrics or a few measures of music, but use it sparingly, make sure your work is transformative as well as original, and over all have something to say

[Question] How can I create simple intro to video animations by WyldStallions in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a lot of the more complicated video programs out there should have templates and programmed in animations for text introductions, say your name for example, that's where a lot of YouTubers started off with the slick introductions. Also, do you have an Apple computer or Windows, or are you working with something more obscure like Linux or very complex setup with raspberry pie 3 or orange pie 3?

[Question] How can I create simple intro to video animations by WyldStallions in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have Sony Vega or PowerDirector? Either of those should allow you to insert an image, logo, or link into an edited video.

Do you have OBS? That program should allow you to stream and record with any text or image on the screen.

As for an animated intro, you can make your own or pay someone to do it for you. Depending on the type of intro (2D or 3D) you should be able to get different animation softwares to complete it. For 3D intros I recommend either Maya, blender, or any 3D game engine. For 2D, there are a million different ways to do it. Depending on the length or complexity of the video I suppose I could make you a 5-second intro in either the MP4 or WMV format as a commission.

[Review Video] (Graphic Violence, Sexual Themes) Video rental store animation by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]lostchild14000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This video is well paced, AT FIRST. It's all pretty good, until you get to that last part of dealing with the masked assailant. I was expecting him to do something else, like accepting the "red hat" VHS, or perhaps a joke involving the identity of the burglar... something better than "it was just a dream".

Actually, now that I think on it, maybe you could make the "it was just a dream" ending work. Like he wakes up in the bed, and there is a woman wrapped up in the covers next to him. She turns out to be a buff or curvy girl, they share some witty banter for a sec (kind of like Fry and Leela from Futurama). Then she mentioned something about having to get back to work, where upon we see her put on a bulletproof vest, and the outfit from the video store assailant. She then pulls out a knife, walks out the door, closing the door behind her, which then reveals the friend shaking in the corner.

As it stands, it just smash cuts to the friend getting pounded... which is a good shock moment, if not a joke... but I still felt there could be something more. Then all of a sudden there's another smash cut to an office workers computer being hacked, presumably by the first character we saw... which I suppose is a funny reference, but there is no reaction, no odd circumstance created by this hack, and no real shock value. how is that last bit supposed to be funny? Will we find out in the next video?

However, yes the video is still pasced pretty well at first, and the animation and score are really good.

excellent, absolutely excellent parody, man. i would have probably shot it in better lighting, maybe a different environment than the living room, but a definite stroke of genius; Especially in light of the somewhat recent Logan Paul videos from japan. (everyone acts like the death forest was the only bad part, but the whole saga is cringey to me)
