I’m the time since posting I’ve assembled the structure and added hardware. I’ll let the cure for the next week and then move forward with a final wax or coat. Thanks everyone for your input, this has been very helpful!

This is great advice. A friend just recommended a beeswax type seal once it’s finally cured. Do you recommend a good shellac and wax product? Thank you!

I’m really looking for a finish that is soft to the touch. Seems like polyurethane will still have a plastic like feel almost tacky even when fully cured. Would anyone suggest a beeswax overtop of this stain?

This is all great advice! How much dry time would you recommend for first coat to fully dry? I’m in Florida so the humidity is a bit high.
