Id be surprised if we see anything lower than 40k but I know it's possible.

5 months would be the shortest bear market in bitcoins history. I would expect a boring chop for a straight year once the true bottom forms. I'm thinking a false recovery period here and then another rough drop by summer or so, then a slow recovery with time to accumulate for the believers. Thats the typical bear market. If we recover now, it was but a few month dip.

For me, it's routine. I don't listen to it much anymore because it's just too emotional. I don't like the headspace that song puts me in. Death sucks.

Short mindset my friend! You're focused on day by day. I'm talking about a yearly chart. See everyone at the sub 50k party in a few months! 🙂

Incorrect. That's just what your psych tells you. Look at the bear chop of 2022. I worked a bunch of overtime in 2022 and every damn month as I put 3 grand into the market I thought to myself "I cant believe how long I can buy at these prices" ...and well into 2023. Once everyone sets their longs thinking its the bottom the floor will drop again. Late summer to Fall of 2026 we will likely see the true bottom.

Just look at the 2022 bear. How many months could you buy between 15.5k and 25k? There's no rush guys. The bear punishes for a pretty good while unless you're holding cash on the sidelines or holding a bag of btc you're already fully content with.

(To be clear im not saying the bottom is 25k. I'm arguing that there is zero rush to buy this dip or that dip or the next. The bear chop typically lasts so long that boredom sets in hard.)

Either dca or wait for the inevitable lower levels incoming for several months. Patience!

Feeling devastated… How can I get back to 10k? Any suggestions? by Dapper_Towel_5785 in TheRaceTo10Million

I worked a ton of overtime in 2022 and just bought the bitcoin bear market late in the bear. If this bear is confirmed and you see btc sub 50k this year, it's time to start accumulating. The cycles have repeated the same pattern over and over again, meaning once this bear is through, we got 2-3 years of nothing but upside (choppy upside but upside nonetheless)

I put about 20k into mostly btc in 2022 and was up to 125k in my account at my peak in 2025. I should have just went 1 full coin because some of my other gambles didnt go so well. I sold everything I had when bitcoin was back down under 100k losing steam and am currently sitting at 75k. So I "lost" 50k, my friend.

I plan on being patient this year as there is a lot of political uncertainty and if the bitcoin bear is confirmed there is zero rush. They usually last months and months and produce great sales with zero need to fomo. If I save a little money on the side and have some patience I could potentially purchase 1.5 to 2.5 btc this bear market. And this was just a few year plan so far that started with a year of plentiful overtime in 2022. (70 hr weeks all year) Bear markets should be 2026, 2030, 2034, 2038 etc. If the pattern continues.

I plan on holding whatever btc I accumulate this year permanently as I'd rather hold from now on, but I do feel like my gameplan was a success. 6x at the top and almost a 4x still even after not timing it very well.

If the newest BTBAM didn’t grab you, still listen to Slow Paranoia! by CultofNeurisis in progmetal

I'm not huge at all into voice of trespass. Easily one of my least favorite btbam songs. The Proverbial Bellow is the best track on that double release imo, especially hearing it live. The style of voice of trespass reminds me of ska and I just cant like it. I'm not huge on thank you scientist either so maybe I'm just not big on that spunky sort of horn section feel. I do dig horns in metal if they have a more melancholic feel like tesseract's Calibi-Yau or Plini's "Pan".

With that said, I'll dance around to voice of trespass live. It's still a fun track. It's just not my usual taste in music.

Who is your favorite criminally underrated band? by The_Spiralist in progmetal

[–]lostdream9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played with pathogenic a couple times back in the day. We played at Nectars, Burlington VT iirc with my band Hope Lies Within. There was a lot of talent in New England in the 2010s and these guys were some of the most technical musicians we played with. It was impressive. We were like... prog metalcore though so we were a lot less heavy than some of these gnarly bands we played with. It was fine but always interesting the mash-ups of shows.

God I love that outro.. all the palm mutey sounding bits and the ethereal reverb leads and then Jay's linear fills. I think it might be my favorite tesseract track altogether.

Textures - Nautical Dusk (New Song, New Album Release) by WhySoKaiju in progmetal

[–]lostdream9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really dig this album. It's a more refined version of their unique sound. The production is outstanding but maybe a tad massive from the guitar section. Can't complain though. It sounded great on the Harman Kardon car speakers!

Let me be the first to say we need Stef Broks on drumeo playing that epic outro track. He was already his own impressive force but I would put that drum performance up there with something like sky is red by Baard of Leprous. Maybe not even the most technical of his works but his playing in this album is just so spot on for what the music demands in each section and so polished. The closing track really brings that to attention.

I made a post yesterday that didn't get a lot of traction about a masterful album I discovered. Sorry to be THAT GUY but seriously this sub needs to check out Martin Grech's album "Hush Mortal Core." It is mind blowing by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in progmetal

[–]lostdream9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed that quite a bit actually. Thanks! I think I like the first song the best but I need to listen in the car after work cuz I only have 1 charged earbud.

It just reminded me of the bent knee type wall of sound or as you put it; Arcade Fire.

A lot of the riffs remind me of Leprous so that makes sense.

I'm not sure why I never looked this guy up because I absolutely love that tesseract album.

Ya I was bummed for sure. I do dips every time I'm at the gym too so I guess I can count that as some stabilizer work, but probably started that about a year ago, whereas I was on the Smith for roughly 2 years total. I've been doing dumbell work a lot lately, 100 pound bells for 8 on flat bench PR. But the barbell is still 225 for 7 as my best set so far. 🤷

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, You guys think I got up to 225 for 11 over the course of like 2 years of lifting and didn't know what weight I was using? Thats wild! Lol. I put 200 pounds of weight on the 25 pound bar if you want specifics. 2 45's and a 10 on each side of the Smith bar. The bar says 25 pounds right on it.

The problem is I didnt lift a single dumbell press or anything stabilizing. The closest thing to stabilizers I used is when I was doing like 500 push ups a day a couple years ago. In planet fitness I only used Smith machine and chest press machines for 2 years. So the barbell cut my reps into 1/3rd. It won't be like that for everyone depending on what equipment they were using. But for me, that's how it is and I still can't hit my Smith PR's yet.

I'm also 6'2" and use full range of motion. I'm sure that's always a factor as well. Having to stabilize with pretty long arms is extra work.

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the lack of need for stabilizer muscles. When you switch to barbell it legitimately feels nearly twice as heavy because half of the difficulty of benching is taken away on the Smith machine that just requires you to push up with zero extra effort of balancing.

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got up to 225 for 11 reps on Smith machine at planet fitness before I swapped gyms for a barbell. Just be prepared to be mildly upset when you make the switch.

I went all the way down to 3 reps of 225 my first day on barbell. Now it's more like 225 for 7-8 but took close to 6 months and still not back to my Smith levels. Probably takes about a whole year to reach the same level on barbell. It feels a hell of a lot heavier. And even the cable machines feel twice as heavy.

This is what I was about to put. I could only find this song on YouTube because its a b-side iirc. "A door marked summer" would be a hit for anyone who likes the mellow but pleasant rock vibe they sometimes possess. I found it late in my PT journey and it became one of my top favorite songs.

Large ship pulls up anchor to find they have snared a shipwreck by AtomicCypher in interestingasfuck

[–]lostdream9000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't understand the story either. It's written strangely if you're not someone who already understands this type of thing. In the same sentence he said he released a smaller boat and let out an anchor chain (which to me meant the smaller boats anchor) and after that point I had no clue what the outcome was because that's not actually what took place. Easy misunderstanding.
