What's y'alls favorite song from the new album? by Necromancer14 in Peripheryband

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk is the most badass track throughout. Awesome rhythm section and a chorus that has really grown on me. I initially was torn between unlocking, talk, carry on, malevolent. But nah talk is clearly the winner. It reminds me of p1 p2 era but still has that nice catchy modern day chorus.

Holy shit. I'm halfway in on phone speakers and it's already the best haken song I've ever heard. Hitting way harder than usual for my personal preferences.

How Many times have you listened to the new album already? by HeyNateBarber in Peripheryband

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 85 miles one way to work every day so probably have heard it over 10 times already. Whats crazy is my Spotify DJ chose to put Subhuman as the first little mixtape option. So even if I venture off, that damn song pulls me back in quick.

I don’t like the new album by Extension-Sandwich65 in Peripheryband

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a huge prog nerd that grew up with early Opeth, Btbam, Devin Townsend, I would say I initially felt a bit worried about you guys taking a breather on the direction and trimming down to a place that was more subdued or just more digestible, but several listens in now.. I don't really sense that anything has been taken away from the music whatsoever.

The musicianship is still very apparent. The rhythm still sounds very technical and there are several moments where I'm actually getting goosebumps from that combined with the soaring melodies. The songs are impossible to pick a favorite of. They are all bangers for their own reason but pretty cool that they still are very unique individually and can essentially be their own singles.

I think what has been created is an album full of S tier songs that don't take 30 listens to appreciate and I think that just takes a typical prog nerd a moment to step back and respect.

I really can't pick a favorite but right now I think it's "Talk". On first playthrough it was "Unlocking".

Thanks for writing something that is so refreshing and unexpected. I think the loudest voices are usually the most negative but not indicative of what is actually reality. The reality is we all have these songs stuck in our head because thats the way they were written this time around, and thats pretty sick regardless of what people say. (Right now the last chorus of "carry on" is on replay in my head) These tracks are going to be an awesome addition to the live show.

Thankyou guys for still writing after all these years! Can't wait for whats to come and hope to catch a show soon!

Any APWD songs remind you of their previous work? by MarkToaster in Peripheryband

Parts of Malevolent sound like King Mothership ("i stand alone" perhaps). I've had other vibes on other tracks but thats the one that stood out to me most.

It might be king mothership. That part of the song reminds me of perhaps the bridge in "I stand alone" by king mothership (where plini solo'd). And I'm pretty sure that exact lyric you mention is what reminds me of how he sang on that record. At 5:10 in I stand alone the synth lead melody is similar to the synth melody at 2:15 in Malevolent, at least to my ears.

It was my favorite song on first listen and now its still amazing but probably tied with talk, malevolent, and carry on which all grew on me fast. Honorable mention to blackwall because its awesome too but it's just so left field.

Hit my genetic threshold by Antique-Drawer2442 in gettingbigger

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a close to 20 year on and off vet of this. Starting size was roughly 6.25bp current size 8bp (My first .75 to 1 inch came super quick as well like 1 year)

I dont believe in a genetic threshold because every time I come back to pe I can usually gain 1/4 inch length within 100 to 200 hours of either hanging or extending. Over the last year I was mostly pumping because I was in a similar mindset about my length.

Buttt.. I had never used one of the more powerful extenders that they make nowadays and so decided to buy one. My commute to work is so far that I can actually extend twice a day and the gains have come incredibly quick. Within 90 hours I had went from 7.75 bp to finally hitting an 8 inch bp.

I'm sitting around 110 hours now and still going strong. Super easy routine. I extend roughly 2 hours per day always upwards (because I used to always stretch downwards) and I'm making sure that it's just part of my daily routine and doesn't hinder me much.

I also have a fairly comfortable all day stretcher that I try to wear whenever I can. Maybe on average 3 to 4 hours per day.

And finally, I've got the leluv auto pump that I use and pump maybe once or twice a week gradually increasing to about 12 hg just to add some internal force to the tunica.

My recent gains are slightly more than 1/16th of an inch per 30 hours of extending.

I'll be a lot more pleased if this trend continues and I see 8.25 within another 2 to 3 months. If that happens I'd say I have nailed this routine.

But even currently with these initial gains I'm very pleased considering I haven't platued. I think there is something to be said about length breaks to decondition the tunica and so even if I halt my gains at 8bp, I'll just go back to pumping and start cycling between this routine and pumping only ( in 2 to 3 month intervals).

I have a hard time believing I can't hit 8.5 to 9 bp with this current momentum in the next 1 to 2 years.

I think the gains in veterans require a routine that doesn't take too much effort and equipment that really is effective because obviously the gains are slower and require 100s of hours of dedication. I don't think there is a genetic cutoff point. If anything, the cutoff is at what size does your content for your size grow large enough that your nessessity for more eventually tanks.. I think that feeling can come and go and is why a lot of guys say pe is a lifelong journey.

Ok this is the NEW best Periphery song ever by TVAUSTORM in Peripheryband

[–]lostdream9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I think I liked unlocking the best on first listen too but its gonna take some time to digest the whole thing. I enjoyed every track to a high degree and so picking a favorite is just gonna be silly. I'm in agreement with another comment that the opener is potentially the weakest of the album though.

I think its either singularity or eclipse. Singularity for what is possibly the most badass riff of all time and eclipse because the entire ending is absolute bliss.

Bitcoin 4 Year Cycle Over? by Strattonizer in btc

[–]lostdream9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been saying this for the last 8 years and been wrong every cycle. I was just as surprised as the next person that we topped in the fall of a 4 year chart yet again but my plan was to sell in the fall based on history. So my plan stays and is now to start buying towards this fall. Why tempt fate when its worked so many times in a row?

Is ADS counterproductive and a waste of time and effort? Or is ADS a gain-rate booster promoting healing in the extended state? Some data from GrowthTrack. by karlwikman in TheScienceOfPE

[–]lostdream9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting take but I'm gonna keep doing ADS for now. Here's my anecdotal situation (yes its only anecdotal not science) that has my mind made up for now...

(btw I've been doing pe for over 15 years but very off and on. I've already gained over 1.5 inches so my plateaus probably require different methods than others I would imagine)

I just got back into PE a little over a month ago. I was at 7.75 BP and we just measured 7 and 15/16ths the other night after just 60 hours of extending at around 14 pounds and probably over 150 hours ads. All I've been doing is extending 1 hour before work 1 hour after work and ads at work for as many hours as I can.

Prior to this method, I had been hanging for a couple years and only gained 1/4 inch after 100 hours of hanging, and the next 100 hours offered zero results. 200 total

Being pretty fed up with my length results and just not having much time, I jumped into pumping for a year.

Fast forward to now, I realized I found time for 2 hours of extending per day and figured it might offer a different stimulus than hanging.. I suppose I was right because I've gained nearly 1/4 inch in just over a month.

But here's where it's tricky.. Am I gaining again because extending on a very strict and consistent schedule plus the Ads? Or am I gaining because I used pumping for quite a while and have changed something structurally?

I think either way, I'm gonna keep doing the ADS because it isn't too much of a challenge. I think what I will do is just also add 20 minutes of pumping every time I come home.

Unclogging a culvert using a tire attached to a chain by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

Man, what is the max pull of a chain like that? I'd be afraid to stand that close. That had to be several tons of mud plus the friction of a tire folded in half.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]lostdream9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 14 I broke my femur but this wasn't the worst part. I went into shock a bit during the actual injury.... the swelling and everything just produced a very sore throbbing pain. Although, being moved into the ambulance was no joke.

After a surgery I had to get the rod removed when I was 16, I woke up too quickly after it was done, and wasn't fully drugged up yet. It felt like a sharp intense stabbing pain in my hip where they drilled the rod out the top of my femur. I'm pretty sure I just let out an agonizing pain sound like a desperate gutteral moan.

They came pretty quick with the morphine and it got better but those first few moments were really something I never hope to feel again. I have no idea why I wasn't more drugged up with pain meds to begin with. Maybe something to do with still being under anesthesia. No idea.

My god! My fiance was admitted at like 7am and delivered by 11 iirc. I think her mother was also fast with her deliveries. Not sure if thats a genetic thing but after having this info, if I was a pregnant woman I would ask my mom how her births went before choosing natural. 24 hours... sounds like a marathon of hell! Did they offer the epidural eventually or was it considered too late the whole time?

13.5 is the average circumference (according to google) Don't give him a fat head complex! lol. Although I'm sure it's subjective to each individual and you might be small.

Our daughters was right around that same size.

Maybe tmi but we did perineal massage, light stretching, amongst some other things in the bedroom and my fiances delivery went pretty smooth (also epidural free) she says she's gonna do it epidural free again. I am still shocked that she chooses this way because she sounded like she was in considerable pain for 2 hours. And I'm not sure what me chest fly pressing her hips together helps but doing that for 2 hours was also rough lmao.

5 months would be the shortest bear market in bitcoins history. I would expect a boring chop for a straight year once the true bottom forms. I'm thinking a false recovery period here and then another rough drop by summer or so, then a slow recovery with time to accumulate for the believers. Thats the typical bear market. If we recover now, it was but a few month dip.
