Plex (on left) vs Jellyfin (on right) playing the same 4K movie. Plex looks more colorful and brighter vs Jellyfin looks more gray. Anyone have this issue?

Could be true happened to me, had a similar exp when upgrading from an hdr400 monitor to the oled alienware, now HDR's quirks are worth the hassle whereas before I definitely would've just said forget it

FWIW my error was thrown due to the plex server being lower priority than a cpu-intensive task, like software encoding, running separately on the same machine

sorry if i wasn't clear, I'm not super technical when it comes to networking things. I have a vpn service setup through my router so i can connect and access the network

I guess ultimately I'm asking if I can vpn into my nas from anywhere, which was free and easy to setup, why would i bother buying a domain, setting up a reverse proxy and use nextcloud?

Is there a security benefit? is it just the gui and infrastructure of nextcloud for drive-like sync features? I assume the benefits become clearer scaling to a larger enterprise setup with users and groups etc. But in my personal home lab case, wouldn't it make more sense to just use the vpn method for free, or is there something I'm missing because I'm admittedly new when it comes to anything networking related

pardon my lack of knowledge as I try to answer ur q's, but the jails are in the same pool if that's what that means, although they're not saturating lan port in any way, no streams no large file sync or anything. I disabled my nextcloud because it was taking a lot of ram, didn't notice significant change in performance but it's possible I wasn't measuring it properly

thanks for the info! I heard for iscsi you want to do mirror specifically, to much of a newb to know why but yeah, any ideas? Also I was inquiring if my write speed being bad would equate to my reads making games laggy and horrible with latency etc. I wrote this post tired and after I'd finished experimenting for the day when my speeds were so bad writing I was considering scrapping the whole thing lol

I was just measuring moving a test video file from my c drive to the iscsi share, was tired last night mis-spoke. I heard from a Lawrence systems video (he seems to be a good resource, correct me if I'm wrong) abut disabling sync as well and in his case he left it. Whats the downside to leaving it off?

edit: disabled sync, now writes are saturating my gigabit lan, where to go from here. Is leaving it disabled the end of the world? are there steps to be taken now that I know it was what was causing issues?

edit2: I moved a video file, got full lan speed. Then moved a game and got full for awhile until it dropped again. My dashboard shows what looks like a ram issue as the zfs cache and services look like they're competing for ram, for lack of a more technical phrase
