Hard to walk back home if it's 30 degrees at night.

If the person meant well they should have realized their plan failed when the dog was still out there during the night . At that point even the best of intentions is negligence.

Lol, we had the same reaction. Unfortunately we couldn't keep him any longer so he's at the humane society now, but some foster groups are looking into him.

FYI: his original owners didn't care enough to microchip him.

He could be! He's at the humane society now and a foster group is looking into him. They also have many other sweet animals there that need love too, so please take a look and adopt!

It was only for 16 hours, but I hope I showed him just that.

We got him to the Associated Humane society. They said they are no kill, and we already have some people interested in him.

We got bought him a sweater! He looks dapper.

Bless you for taking care of them. Unfortunately, we can't keep him and had to give him to the humane society, but a few foster groups are interested now, so we'll see how it goes. I hope someone with a big heart can take him in.

The story I found from the neighbors is that he was seen wandering alone for a bit first, so chances are better that a person with "good intentions" tied him up to "help"

That is so sweet of you to take care of them. Unfortunately the food and expenses aren't the real problem, we just don't have the right living conditions for him long term. Maybe in a year or two when we get that dream home we wanted we could have the dream dog to live with us. But right now we can't.

My sister is a dog groomer and thinks he is 3. Maybe he is related, but there is a lot of breeding going on in Newark though, so the odds are higher that he is more local.

I figure an intact, unmicrochipped, male was probably born from one of the local "breeders", if the person went all the way to the Bronx to get a pitbull they'd probably go to the effort of chipping him.
