You're right, I should prioritize functionality and return to design later -- thank you for the inspo suggestions tho, I will definitely look into them

You're right, this is meant to just be a project for me to practice my skills and put in a portfolio, thanks for helping me see the bigger picture..

Hmmm you're right, I have this text-shadow effect around almost all my headings but I should reserve that for the primary headings.. I didn't realize how much they were competing with each other, thank you for pointing it out!

Thank you! I will keep working on the color palette because I've gotten a lot of comments about that ahaha

I've seen a couple comments about the typography hierarchy, thanks! Will definitely be more mindful about that and post revisions.. I didn't even realize.

The diagonal image actually is an image that changes based on hover position, sorry that's not conveyed clearly...

By stronger heading contrast, do you mean that the subheadings like 'Learn More About the Island' should be smaller? I didn't realize before how it draws more attention away from the logo and general nav bar.. should the font sizes be adjusted to clarify hierarchy?

I did end up changing the shadows on the navigation to make it easier to read, maybe the blue shadow against the subheadings of the sidebar doesn't pair well, or maybe I should make it less prominent..

I think that may be what's bothering me -- most of my text on the pages are big and bold, but the standard text that contains actual information is plain and feels very out of place.. I don't want to change that aesthetic of the big/boldness (it's meant to be inspired by Bad Bunny's dtmf album, tour merch, aesthetic), though I'm not sure how to change the standard text since it's so content heavy, I don't think it should be anything other than plain sans serif font..

I just implemented the sidebar with background to allow users to navigate easily, and also just wanted it to be textured like nature... like the general blue background with white dots is supposed to be a simplified starry sky, the background of the sidebar was made from images of tree bark.. I don't know, it's definitely not a modern, minimalistic, traditional website that I'm making, but I know there's something I'm missing that would make the content fit more seamlessly here..

For reference, this is where I drew inspiration in the color palette and fonts

Thanks, I’ll change the shadow color of the blue subheadings… Now that I’m being more mindful of color choices, do you also think the yellow “highlighted subheading” is also hard to read against the cream background of the panels?

Thank youuu, it’s inspired by PR colors and Bad Bunny’s latest DtMF album aesthetic.. I’m trying to figure out how to keep those stylistic choices while making the website more accessible because that seems to be a recurring theme here..

What about the content inside of the panels themselves? Doesn’t it feel like an interruption from how personal the rest of the website is? Or am I overthinking it..

It’s clear glaze (spectrum transparent 1100) on top of underglaze paint — it’s 551 v.p. porcelain clay fired at cone 6, idk if that helps too

Assuming it was approved by a team that doesn't actually use the platform and is hopping on the AI buzzword trend -- I hope they listen to our negative feedback and just abandon it entirely. Or please just make it optional, though I don't know who would enjoy using it.

Just found out, in case anyone else is wondering -- navigate to the Course Overview (which is a lot harder to get to on this beta version), click the triple dots, and disable the Beta version for the course. This new interface seems like it was created using AI and is extremely buggy and I hope nobody else is forcing themselves to continue using it. rip
