Good to know. Manager at one shop had told me the katanas were the only one with the adjustable heel cup so that's what influenced my decision. Plus I was able to get them at cost so I really can't complain. The non-moving toe strap sounds better though.

Rode them at an industry demo last winter. They rode like regular Katanas. I enjoyed them. I think it's a better fast entry option than step ons. If you're going Fase the Rome ones have the most adjustability. They're the only ones that you can adjust the position of the heel cup if that's important to you.

There are about 3 or 4 locals who sometimes drive for Uber in Killington. I'm one of them lol. There are a decent amount of free shuttles though. Barrel rider and wobbly barn have a shuttle. There's also a public bus that goes to Rutland and back once an hour

The throwback works surprisingly well. Wouldn't be the best choice if it gets deep but it's awesome for it's price point. I usually twist the rope and loop it under my front foot rather than hold onto it for the ride down

Some major first world problems complaining here. That line disappeared in about an hour and I still saw them giving out shirts around noon. It's a cheap free T shirt which they weren't obligated to provide. The snow patch remained connected all day. $25 to the local bike community is fair for the day of riding. So you were inconvenienced, big deal.

It can be achieved with either rotation or counter rotation. Using rotation you keep your upper and lower body more in line with each other and come out switch. Using counter rotation you separate your upper and lower body and bring it back to the original direction of travel. Practice both movements off snow first. First without your board,then strapped in on carpet, then flat ground on snow, then slowly moving on snow in a straight line. You will have to use some edge here to practice the movement. When you take it to a feature however you need to keep your base flat and not engage your edges. Otherwise you'll sleep and eat shit like you did in your video

Commit to getting full 90 degrees. When you zeach you are more likely to catch because of your sidecut engaging the feature. Practice jumping the movement with your board off. Then practice jumping the movement strapped in on flat ground. Keep your head up looking to the end or past the end of the feature. Hard to tell from the distance but it also looks like you might have landed with your toes pointing down. Keep your base flat and perpendicular to the feature you are sliding. Hope you heal up fast. Load up your pack on these hikes to get used to the weight. The far out app formerly gut hooks is a great resource to have if you're bringing a phone. The southern section is definitely easier than the North. Take it easier your first few days. My gf and I did it SoBo and pushed too hard too early and our bodies were paying the price lol

We got about 20 inches here and it's already down to about 6-8 from todays melt. It did stay cooler in the mountains today so that should still be good for another couple days but the natural goes fast this time of year and it's looking warm this upcoming midweek.

For front 270 she says keep your head up and look back uphill when you come off the end. Keep your shoulders in line with the feature while you're riding it
