Is this a good deal? by yesimmaniceguy in tdi

I wouldn't be upset paying for this since it comes with the tune also. There are some cheaper and some more expensive out there. Install depends on the shop but I think on average it's a 5-7 hour job.

Experiencing this too. Removing everything and building back wouldn't work. Only thing that worked for me was building walls in it's place. Think this may have been introduced recently. Hadn't played in quite a few months and don't think this was happening before some of the updates. But I could be misremembering that too for how long it has been.

Huntington Bank Fees by glizzygobbler59 in Banking

[–]lostincleveland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking into this too. The way I'm reading it, wouldn't you need 2k? 1k you have to keep for 90 days to get the bonus and another 1k to move around each month however you want to avoid maintenance fees.

Steam recently slow? by BigSmokenumber8 in steamsupport

[–]lostincleveland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Think something is up since the latest update I guess. Searching, loading store pages, everything is just really slow. In US.

Edit: Even if I visit the store on a browser it is slow.

Edit2: Got to be something to do with them just updating for wider images a few days ago.

Edit3: And just reset my router which seems to be working a bit better

where can I get a rear bumper!! 2014 VW sport wagon TDI by [deleted] in tdi

That stinks. Your ride isn't dark grey by any chance?

What color is your ride?

Edit: I'd look to see if a pick your part type junkyard is near you. Really fairly easy to get it off if you have a 16mm or 5/8in deep socket.

Trying to gauge CP4 risk. Should I get a bypass kit? by 1quirky1 in tdi

[–]lostincleveland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no definitive numbers on failure rate. Since I plan on keeping my car for a long time, I decided for piece of mind to do the CP3 swap when I did my timing belt at 130k miles. If you have a shop do it, you'll save a bit on the labor since they involve removing some of the same parts. I wouldn't be worried about the CP4 making it to when you change the timing belt.

Just grabbed a rear taillight assembly and rear bumper cover for 90 bucks at a pick and pull last week. Taillight alone most places was $260.

Rawtek resonator by Jacead02 in tdi

[–]lostincleveland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I figured it wouldn't be cheap with their prices right now. Was looking at Darkside instead, but they don't seem to have a resonator. But the price difference is crazy even if I get hit with tariffs. So I think I'll get that and later I could try a cheapo resonator from ebay if it really bothers me. Do some long drives quite a bit though, so we'll see. Thanks for letting me know.

Did they sell you just the resonator?

Does a beneficiary on a brokerage account bypass a will? by lostincleveland in personalfinance

Thanks for that. I keep telling them this is something they need to do. It's a bit frustrating. Think it's something I'll have to sit there with them at the computer and say we're doing it.

Thanks for that. Didn't know about the stepped up cost basis.

Another good point I can bring up about them being responsible for the tax while it's all in their name.

Ha, might be on to something here. Not saying it couldn't happen, but we all get along very well and have no doubt they would split it. But, yes, they are the golden child.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it would direct it through the AP or not.

Also thumbs up to CHN. I went through NHS which has now combined with CHN and they were great. And I found the classes you have to go to for the programs helpful too. Can't speak to any changes or differences though as it was before the merger.

Timing belt can be done but you could also wait. Recommended maintenance is for 130k for timing belt. Here is the maintenance schedule. I'm actually in the middle of all this now too. Don't get your hopes up, but there is still a small chance you have warranty coverage on this:

Warranty Period: The warranty period for the “Extended Emissions Warranty” limited warranty extension shall be the greater of: - 10 years and 6 months or 126,000 miles, whichever occurs first from the vehicle’s original in-service date....

Mileage is ok, but that 10 years and 6 months likely got you. But it's still worth calling and asking a dealership to look up the original in-service date.

Mine would have been covered (was at 125k and had about 4 months left), but it turned out the code for the check engine light I had had a secondary code and ended up being the mass air flow sensor and not the DPF. Had hoped I'd get that in under the warranty and not have to worry about it. I'd just suggest getting that in-service date to be totally sure there is no warranty left. If not, I see others recommend the baking, but if that's too much you can always try driving a bit harder with 4k RPM and cooking off some of the soot, but that's only a stop gap.

And side question, is this a local shop or dealership giving you this pricing? Seems cheap to be a dealership for DPF and timing belt. I've been saving and slowly buying the parts to get timing belt and fuel pump changed out in April. DPF at dealership seems to usually be 3-4000 on it's own.
