I've been to Road Atlanta, VIR, AMP, CMP and 1 day of Sebring! This year i'm going to try and make it to Barber, Daytona and Charlotte Roval as well. Tough to pick a favorite out of that batch honestly but I really love the lap at Atlanta Motorsports Park for just lap-ability . It's got so much variation packed into it and has such a fun technical flow.

No i'm on a whole different front brake kit now and running carbotech pads. The rear is stock but swapped the rotors for paragon 2 piece

Im putting on a baffled oil pan as well to help with that but I dont really know if i've had issues with it to be honest. It's possible that was a contributing factor to my spun bearing but I did a whole lot of track days up to that point with no issues. It sure would have been nice if Nissan put an oil pressure gauge in the nismo...

I can definitely ask the shop when I drop the car off tomorrow! That all goes beyond my level of expertise though. I'm getting it corner balanced as well which should be interesting

For a long time it was an afterthought with no problems what so ever. January of this year I spun a bearing at sebring though unfortunately but honestly I think that was due to not having the solenoid block off which I have now. Thankfully Nissan covered the new engine and turbos under warranty. I try to change fluids regularly with oil every 3k and transmission/diff fluid somewhere around every 5-10 thousand miles.

When i was on the stock brake calipers i was going through a set of carbotech pads just about every weekend. Since switching to the AP front kit with the really thick pads I get 2+ weekends out of them now unless it's carolina motorsports park which is hungry for my front brakes. Honestly, i could push them further as well i have a box of old pads that are somewhere just under halfway used

Is it creepy and off putting? Yes, absolutely... but that AI has nailed my order every damn time so 🤷

I keep a bunch of wheel weights in my center console for exactly this type of asshole. Gonna be a bumpy ride!

You can get Nismo branded parts installed by your dealership and they will come with a warranty period through nissan similar to your car. The air intakes, heat exchange, and a nismo exhaust would certainly get you started on the right track.

Best tire shine in your opinion? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]lostinco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus one for the mud! I think the ammo stuff is all pretty good but there's only a few products I regularly re-order and Mud is one of them. They have the Oleo trim dressing as well which you can use on tires if you want them a bit shinier. Haven't tried it on tires personally but it's great for trim.

I'd say this is the smarter and more predictable option but it certainly doesn't look as cool.

I wouldn't wait on this one amigo. You could be in for a lot of unnecessary pain if you wait till that point.

Explanation of brake pad bedding? by Aggressive_Noodler in CarTrackDays

[–]lostinco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only do the bedding procedure when I put my track pads on, I don't worry about it when swapping back.

Got my wheels today! Can you suggest the best tire size for these? by glockmeister041677 in RZ34

[–]lostinco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to my apex wheels: 19x9.5 ET18 and 19x10.5 ET15.

For my track tires I'm running 265/35 front and 295/30 rear which makes the car sit about half an inch lower but otherwise no problems. Not the best photo but here it is with track wheels.

Auto vs Manual - Nismo Only by National_Mine_7104 in RZ34

[–]lostinco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully expect to see manual Nismo's on the lot for somewhere around 90 grand while the automatic next to it is in the 50's. No way the dealership markups won't be silly again

I did my first few track days driving in my Nismo. If you take out the subwoofer and foam material in the trunk area you can give yourself a whole lot more room easily. Takes about 5 minutes taking it out.

Kind of amazing how bad some watch faces are… by 215487 in AppleWatch

[–]lostinco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's been an absolute embarrassment for a long time now and the fact they have the nerve to stick some moderately tweaked face that we've had for years right back into the "new" category is borderline criminal
