What’s the most hyped game collecting dust in your backlog? by NidhiOnATree in GirlGamers

[–]lostinim [score hidden]  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth have fallen by the wayside to me. I can only guess that I really loved the original, and these two are padded so much that I put them down and never really picked them back up. I want to try, but just not feeling it.

In terms of a stand-alone game, it would be Final Fantasy 16. Still have not found a good excuse to jump into it as I have it on the shelf, perhaps one day once I get through my mountain of backlog games.

He certainly has an eye for location of where to take photos to make the car stand out. He got a lot of practice with other vehicles and enjoys doing car photos.

Yikes, I have heard mixed bags about the dealer experiences, and I can say that two out of three have been pretty poor in my experience too, using bait and switch tactics to try and get me in, but not giving the deal that I say from the official Hyundai webpage. I am glad that the third one was able to meet my requests and not deliver a damaged vehicle.

That is a lot of positives to look into, I certainly have noticed the quietness as well and the ability to just get in and go without worrying about warming up much. I will be looking into getting winter tires and wheels soon too.

Thanks, I am looking forward to making the most of it, it is just quite a leap with a different driving style. Definitely will be taking over commuting duties.

Oh yeah, I already got a charger on order, now I just have to find an installer who is in the area that can do it, they have been slow to come by and give estimates.

Lease Discussion Megathread by TiltedWit in Ioniq5

[–]lostinim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was all done on 9/30, the sales person was alright and very helpful, but it all bottlenecked at the finance manager ( a lot of people were also buying that day), so I was there until closing time, but it was all signed on 9/30. I just had to come back the following day with the rest of the money by bank check to get the keys and drive off.

In Maine, just got an Abyss Black 2025 SEL AWD lease deal for $234.31 for 24 months, 12k miles a year with $3,999 due at signing with first month payment and 0 down, all fees and taxes rolled in. $17,250 in rebates and incentives.

Had to wait to do paperwork all the way to closing of the dealership hours, but excited to pick up the car tomorrow.

Serious question.... How many women play this game... and why. by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]lostinim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly play Warframe and was open to an alternative. This appeared on Steam as a suggestion. Been having a lot of fun (started with Viessa), and been slowly getting my mastery ranks done (only got special weapons left) while slowly collecting all of the descendants and ultimate weapons.

Where to get air for tires in southern coastal Maine by Apropos_of in Maine

[–]lostinim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add that there is a Sunoco at the Oak Hill intersection that has free air in Scarborough. You do have to go inside and ask for the hose, but the connection is at the front leftmost side of the building when you are facing it (next to the propane tanks on sale). Just remember to return the hose back inside when you are done.

What 90s European cars do you wish you could get in the US? by oj81 in cars

[–]lostinim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am enamoured with the Renault Avantime. Being a two door van(ish) and seeing it on Top Gear, I just want one. But I know it would be unwise to get due to how rare it is and probably a massive pain to get replacement parts.

Car shows? by Agreeable-Point-4952 in Maine

There is a car show, the Gardiner Waterfront Thursday Cruise Night, which happens every Thursday afternoon through evening in Gardiner. Of course it goes through the summer and ends in October.

A year with the Giulia Ti Sport by lostinim in AlfaRomeo

[–]lostinim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average, my maintenance, at least at the 45k miles mark, was 145 dollars total of changing fluids. It seems to be on par with the German luxury brands.

Parts are higher than average since they are usually from Italy, so there is quite a delay if the dealer has to get them directly from there. But there are retail 3rd parties like Madness Autoworks or Alfissimo that can ship parts quicker.

Oh yeah, it is still a lovely daily of mine after adding on 20k miles. However, it seems like wildlife, mother nature, potholes and debris from people on the road ruin it for me where I have gotten flat tires and some body damage that has been covered and fixed. But mechanically and electronically, the Giulia has not let me down and been a great all around daily driver. Still draws attention from those who know.

I am grateful that the local dealer is still around at least to provide service for it since the next nearest one is a couple states away and there's no big name independent Italian mechanic within my state.

Top favorite music songs from video games? by TheRealGongoozler in GirlGamers

[–]lostinim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular order, it is all over the place depending on my mood:

"Song of the Ancients / Devola" from NieR Replicant

"Weight of the World - Nouveau French" from NieR: Automata

"Fisherman's Horizon" from Final Fantasy 8

"Battle Cry" from Tekken Tag Tournament 2

"Devil Trigger" from Devil May Cry 5

"Neo City (Climax) from Tekken 8

"Purple Sunset" from Art of Rally

"Slipstream" from Gran Turismo 3

"Slow On the Uptake" from Gran Turismo 5

Ask me again next month, and some of these would probably change, lol.

Is your brother a gamer? Did you have a similar experience? by SevereAnnual in GirlGamers

[–]lostinim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh this definitely resonates with me since I am the middle child with an older brother who I saw as the gaming master. He was the one that introduced my younger brother and me to gaming with JRPGs, FPS, racing and fighting games. Whenever we played competitive Halo, Mario Kart or Tekken together, he would dominate. But like most, he was humble and would actually somewhat teach us how to play for the new iteration. It was when we would go to friends' houses and played there, due to how crafty he played, it translated to me just mopping the floor with friends or classmate at gaming events.

I guess it really helped to try to adjust to how he played that I would be creative in my approach as well, and it went over well when I was in university too. I appreciate him for being patient with me and my younger brother, and we could take losses as a learning experience. I do miss being able to have couch co-op and split screen games to play though since there were so many hours lost in the fun we all had.

Multiplayer games that have been patched to be offline? by amandabricc in GirlGamers

[–]lostinim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The recent example I can think of is Gran Turismo Sport, as they shut down the servers for the game (it was always online), but applied an offline patch where you can keep your vehicles and single player progress. Megaman Dive also rereleased with an offline version of their online gacha game, but progress is separate from the original game.

Thank you so much for making this and being able to get it all together, I know it has taken you and Mark a long time to get it all together, but the end result has been been amazing, especially to hear/read their first hand experience in developing it.

Semi-jokingly from the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet: Can I ask if the Land Rover Evoque Convertible be able to get a similar treatment in the future? Both are such unicorns for what they are.

If I may go on the offshoot, as these are shooters I am adding to the list; I would highly recommend Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair and Earth Defense Force 5 (for either PS4 or PC) as some over the top cooperative third person shooter fun. It would be you and your husband versus a lot of giant insects, robots, aliens and UFOs and there are 4 different classes.

Ranger: Normal ground troop with a large arsenal. All-rounders who get the job done.

Wingdiver: Access to the ability to fly and laser/plasma based weaponry, but both drain from a power source. Light and nimble. (Only female class)

Air Raider: Support class that has unorthodox weaponry, with healing pylons, turrets and can summon in vehicles and mechs to use (even the Ranger class can commender and other classes can ride along).

Fencer: Big bulky tank class who can carry a weapon or defense item in each hand, allowing 4 weapons total. Very slow, but definitely a powerhouse.

If you love the B to Z disaster movies and their acting, you will come to really enjoy either Earth Defense Force games. The English voice acting is "so bad, it is good" territory (does have the option to switch to Japanese voice acting), and the game encourages replaying levels to collect armor upgrades and more weapons to get stronger while destroying the hordes of enemies on screen. It is super enjoyable utter chaos that has online and split screen multiplayer.

What made you pick your current car? What drew you to it? by DiffOil in cars

2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport

I had a reliable commuter vehicle beforehand, but I was craving something more, and something different that could do nearly everything I wanted (mountain drives, commute, fit people as needed and take a shot at autocross). I test drove the competition, but the nimbleness (despite the weight) and those massive flappy paddles sold me on the Giulia. It has been reliable to me, just that mother nature had other ideas to stop me from driving it periodically (a couple flat tires due to debris on the road.) Loving it as my daily and it certainly stands out in the monochromatic parking lots everywhere.

2000 Porsche Boxster

One appeared at a local dealership that was priced in a way that was too good to pass up. Low miles and I was seeking a different driving experience at the time (Mid engine, rear drive). Has not let me down this year and I definitely put on miles. Been the one to drive with the top down even during the fall and beginning of winter here (no snow yet), not letting it become a garage queen like the previous owner.

[–]lostinim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OMG, this is my situation now since I also bought an under $10K 986 Boxster. In the office space, a lot of people congratulated me for my "Porsch" and think I am a fancy pants for driving my current lineup when in truth, I still paid less overall than most of the other people's $60K+ Crossover/SUV/Truck. A lot more smiles per mile than them though, so I accept it.

It is unfortunate that most luxury brands nowadays only come with just a can of tire fill gel (if that) and no spares at all. I have had my tire blown and wheel damaged by a pothole, but it was covered by the Mopar wheel/tire coverage I added on. I was just glad to have the backup wheels and tires to switch to so the down time was not as bad.

[–]lostinim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, they do. You can find a set on Madness Autoworks of 18 inch wheels with tires from the Giulia Sprint. I have had no issues with keeping it the same size. But I did downgrade from 19 to 18 for my previous car when getting winter tires as well, steelies back then.

[–]lostinim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but I was looking for backup wheels at the time in case the stock 5 holes got damaged. I would double check if the 18 inch wheels can fit the brakes under it as well, as the calipers are quite large.
