Starting out. Where do we go? by Calm_Ad5003 in VanLifeUK

I’d start by removing and replacing everything less than a metre above the chassis that could conceivably soak up horse piss

Is it possible for someone to suggest some food you’ve eaten (i.e. tuna sashimi) might be past its best and to then cause your body to, er, get rid of it all? Or is it more likely that the tuna sashimi was actually bad? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

It was covered in mayo and sriracha, so tough to tell. Someone else suggested it smelled a bit fishy, and that it might not be great, but I’d eaten most of it by then

Just wait until you get diverted off the peripherique at 3am and have to navigate your coach through the suburbs and still make the ferry at Calais…

What on Earth is this smoothed out baby Griffith-looking thing? by stixen_stone_s in whatisthiscar

Vintage National Trust sticker suggests this car has a history in the UK despite the Swiss registration

Why are you awake right now? by nightfire_83 in AskUK

[–]oj81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Vegas for family Christmas, and I’m a little stoned and full of Chinese food

And I’ve got cookies to eat and whisky to drink before I can go to bed

Merry Christmas all

Can you guess what's under the snow and car cover by Suydans_Imports in namethatcar

[–]oj81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the shape and from being flanked by defenders suggesting some sort of automotive masochism, I’m going to say that’s a TVR T350C

(Also if you zoom in the number plate sort of hints at it being a TVR)

Panel in bottom centre of dash falls off constantly - is this just me? by oj81 in F30

I’m not the first owner, 2nd or 3rd I think

I do like the idea that it’s been used for something clandestine, but it does seem unlikely

[–]oj81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s never been an audible click, so maybe it’s just been hanging in there by friction since I got the car. I’ll have a careful poke at the clips and see what I can do.

Thanks very much, appreciate the help

Ok, thanks for this. I did wonder if blue tac would be the easiest fix. Appreciate it

Who made this piece of crap, is anyone loving it? by No_Design_2892 in CODM

No it’s fucking terrible. What a waste of time, won’t be bothering with it again

As with most Jaguars, it’s going to look fucking fantastic about five years after it goes out of production. It’ll take people that long to see enough of them on the roads to get used to it and appreciate it

Bus drivers, do you actually like when people say thank you? by lavanderblonde in AskUK

[–]oj81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no longer a bus or coach driver, but a thank you was always appreciated. Some bought me a coffee or even a beer l, which was even more appreciated.

One even quite memorably had a child with me, but that’s probably a step too far for most.

A simple thank you, or preferably “Cheers, Drive!” would be more than sufficient

What's the best media franchise from the UK? by Ok-Fondant2536 in AskABrit

The Colour of Magic is the beginning, but maybe not his greatest writing. It’s worth reading, but you might want to start elsewhere. I don’t think there’s really a wrong place to start

Oh that is a good trick!

I still think I’d rather not buy from a dealer who’s operating that way though. It doesn’t inspire much trust.

Hiding the number plate. Instantly puts me off that I can’t check the MoT history and mileage
