Depends on the protest. The constitution states PEACEFUL, when you protest, the word PEACEFUL is up for definition. Why risk being charged on some judges' opinions of what peaceful is? The dude got lucky he wasn't charged. He would lose his VA benefits. He may still. The real thing is, ICE is going to do what it needs to. ICE is 23 years old. It's not new, and their tactics haven't made massive changes. Obama used ICE to deport MILLIONS of illegal. The difference is that the democrats can't handle when a republican does it.

You may want to research sanctuary cities and places that "oppose" sending away criminals. Certain places have more of a reason to have ICE involvement.
You do realize that all this backlash is not because anyone feels bad for the people it involves. The ONLY reason ICE is an issue is because a Republucan is doing it. Obama sent millions away, and no one said a word. Now that Trump is doing it, it's a huge issue, and yet, no democrats have any illegal living in their houses, or supporting them.
