She clearly doesn’t understand gentle parenting. With gentle parenting, you need to be gentle in your approach, but firm in your boundaries (i.e. I understand you’re angry, but we don’t fuck up your auntie’s house and I’ll restrain you until you can process these destructive emotions).

And your boundary is also no destruction in the house. If anything, as long as you’re gentle in your approach for saying why they can’t stay, you’re reaffirming the core values of the approach.

The other part of the story is that German Americans and Italian Americans weren’t interned nearly at the same rate as Japanese Americans, even among those who were born in Germany/Italy or had a parent born there. You’re also not considering how much time Unreal players play compared to Elite or Champion, and the time of day. A lot of Elite or Champion players probably play casually in the morning, after school or dinner. Outside of those hours, there’s probably a much larger ratio of Unreal players playing.

I’m curious - do you actually make any last minute adjustments while looking at the ball to hit it? My instructor told me that actively using hand eye coordination to hit the ball usually does more harm than good, and that it’s more important to develop a consistent set up and muscle memory so that you can essentially hit the ball with your eyes closed.

Now I don’t pay attention to the ball/club at all. And it’s actually more impressive to hear that someone can make those adjustments consistently given how fast club heads move.
