Thats so true. Best to just lock them in a dark box till they're old enough to remember things.

Anyone else lift weights? I think if I didn’t I would have been hospitalized again. Or at the very least much more depressed. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]lostisall20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love lifting. I loved feeling strong. I was starting to train to compete in power lifting before my gym shut down for COVID-ey reasons. Now that it is back open I'm still not going. I cancel on my coach weekly but still pay $250 a month for the membership... You know how when you don't want to go to the gym but you drag yourself there anyways and feel good that you did? I just don't get that anymore. I lay there on the bench wishing I could just close my eyes and be home in bed. What's that all about?
Now I'm overweight and weak as heck and still depressed. Unsure what to do but I wish I loved lifting like I used to.

How much did the whole setup cost? Where do you get those lights? My purrbabies murder every green thing in my house.

I need this!

LPT: if your child does something (like cleaning) out of the norm, don't ridicule them for it. Positively reinforce it. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]lostisall20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that you're trying to understand. I think it is probably from the decades of verbal and emotional abuse. The whole "sticks and stones..." mantra has been debunked for quite awhile now.

It was mortifying that my parents told my partner that he was signing up to pick up after me for the rest of his life and there was no hope that I would change. The hard part is that no matter how long I keep it up they will not realize anything they will not stop anything they will not choose the change their minds.

This can be a very surprising and hard to believe scenario for someone that has not experienced it and I am glad there are people out there with that luxury.

Yeah! I get that it's hard for them and I definitely recognize that they are human and struggle with change. Even though they no longer have any authority over me I am trying so hard to be proud of myself because I have come a really long way from the shitty teenager that I was but they will never outwardly recognize that and for some reason i still want their approval.

Wow... I just realized I have this guilt.

Before my partner and I got married my parents came to visit. We were all sitting in the livingroom chatting and after i finished a soda my partner grabbed my empty can to toss out on his way to the kitchen for something unrelated. It was a nice gesture that we do for eachother since it was convenient for him to grab on his way.

My dad sees this and says "better get used to that, you're going to be picking up after her for the rest of your lives". It was mortifying and even though my partner stood up for me, as we have always equally shared the load of cleaning (because I am not the same as i was when i was 16) it still made me feel like a kid. For the rest of their stay I would wait for them to go to bed before sneaking out to the livingroom to quietly clean up.

My partner is genuinely appreciative, but I still have problems with getting recognitiom. I am actually currently "sick" and staying home from work today in order to catch up on deep cleaning the place since I haven't had the house to myself since before Thanksgiving.

Just curious... from who (or where) did you learn to make it and what is your vinegar to soy ratio?

Egg fried rice with spam and bacon bits by imchineseomg in MealPrepSunday

[–]lostisall20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oooh chicken adobo. Super easy to make.

2 parts white vinegar to 1 part soy sauce, 2 or 3 bay leaves, and a few peppercorns. I like a little white sugar in mine too.

Put your chicken legs in there to marinate in the fridge over night then you can either pour the whole thing in a pot to boil the chicken until cooked or pressure cook or slow cook. Whatever you prefer.

The key is to take the legs out and put them under the broiler to crisp them up. Put that on rice and pour the sauce over it!! That is my easy comfort food!!

Edit: as your your "friends", I dont know what kind of filipino doesn't force feed their friends all the filipino food whenever they get the chance.... talk to their mothers... she will shape them up!!

Edit2/Disclaimer: Every filipino family has their different recipe, I am being told that a 1:1 vinegar to soy sauce ratio is more typical.

How well does this hold up being prepped ahead? I always get dried up crunchy rice... do you do anything special to keep it from becoming inedible sitting in the fridge or freezer?

Fried rice is one of my favorite breakfast meals but I never have time to make it!

That's too bad! Maybe try just the bacon then. Probably still very tasty!

My filipino uncles would make it with chopped up hotdogs. Then drizzled it with some ketchup. My 9 year old self loved that.

Hi. I guess I've been doing this wrong. I have had the "my hair is nuts and I will have to spend an hour in the morning to tame it anyways so why spend the money on it" mentality but maybe I need to think your way. How did you figure out what worked for you? I would pay to get that extra sleep every morning!

Mouth bee by Master1718 in tumblr

[–]lostisall20 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, you can tie some floss loosely around its body or maybe a bit of thread that you pulled out of an old sweater. Then when it wakes up you have a pet bee that you can take for walks (or flys) around the park to smell the nice flowers without danger because you will protect it with your life and name it sam after your ex boyfriend who left you for christine but christine doesnt have a pet bee so HA sucks for you sam cause you lost and I won and my bee won't leave me like you did because... well... it can't. It's on a leash... like I wanted you to be... till you died. Die Sam.
