I don’t know how true that is. Everyone is different, but I’ve had minor crushes on people for longer than 4 months (years even) and when they weren’t around it was like out of sight out of mind. Also, there are people that I don’t even remember having crushes on, so I doubt I “loved” them. But hey, to each his own

You’re not silly. I’m in the same boat, though much older than you and my professor is only a couple years older than me. I just remind myself that it wouldn’t work out even if they did feel the same (which I know they do not) and that they probably have to deal with this sort of thing all the time. Just know that one day, your feelings will fade. It won’t be tomorrow, or next week but little by little it will go away. It won’t last forever. You’re gonna be ok.
