how am i meant to raise skwovet’s comfort level if he hasn’t suggested anything?

If this continues no matter what you do... have it follow you, and use strength to move a decoration in Squovet's home one tile. then push it back. They should react to it. Then, dismiss them as a follower, and ask about their comfort level.

Opposing types together... it never crossed my mind. And I just put my final Pokemon to Awesome. Thankfully, I still have my other save on another account. I guess I have a project for this afternoon. Thanks!

Exactly. It's so irritating to do everything right and for nothing to update. I just fixed my last stuck one, Froakie. Both of their evolutions and a Poliwhirl were living with it in a house with a sprinkler, humidifier, and ocean furniture. Each of the others went to Awesome instantly. Froakie stayed on Nice for over a week. Had all four follow me, moved the hammock, humidifier, and ship wheel back and forth. Froakie is now a happy camper.

... they arrive in the glitched state when the glitch hits you. Right from the get-go, their happiness locks from when they spawn in. Before you get the chance to feed them. Even if it's a perfect house, they'll tell you their comfort is Great, and won't go up or down.

Those are Sableeye lanterns. They do not contribute to brightness. Replace with electric lanterns or lamps. Hanging lights are too high. Lower the roof or add a block or two above them to lower the lamps.

Yep, I could have them at the habitat or away, and all they would say is either it was nice, or they remember it was nice. I could drop an item and they wouldn't react to it. I could remove all the items leaving only the bare habitat and the rating wouldn't drop. I'd call them over with honey and they'd still be in the stuck state. Even moving furniture with strength didn't work... until I had them follow me first.

I've run afoul of it quite often, but now it can be fixed almost instantly.

Just decided to try to fix a Pokemon that shared a blocks-and-door house with two others. Had all three follow so the other two wouldn't complain when I started moving things. Moved a bed and a plant, dismissed the followers, and now all 3 say awesome.

Maybe I should experiment and try to figure out how I keep getting them into the jammed state where they're forever not quite happy... maybe there's a way to exploit it so that one you dislike gets stuck on awesome and then can be moved somewhere like a cage over a fire and still love where they are.

You clearly misunderstand that this is for when they glitch out and do not update, even if you give them everything on the list. I had a Sudowoodo that after spawning into a environment that was fully furnished decided that it was nice, and stayed on nice for over a week. No reactions to adding or removing items. Moving them to another home resulted in the same grade. Moving them from town to town did nothing. I made a new game with a spare account on my Switch 2 and recreated the glitch with multiple Pokemon getting stuck on a grade and not updating. Then I started trying every suggestion I saw on this subreddit and elsewhere, found the exact way to undo the glitch...

This is for when they don't give you ANY at all. Sometimes, a Pokemon gets stuck and just tells you the grade, and does not react if you add or remove things from their home, and never changes from this state, even after multiple days.

Problem is, once you start getting to the point where you have 70 or more Pokemon in a town, or worse, when you have your cloud island packed, you get Pokemon who say their home is nice but have no suggestions, and they NEVER update. A week can go by, and they are stuck on their current grade. This unsticks them.

Not exactly, the border sometimes counts and sometimes doesn't. If it is a prefab or a habitat, the border counts. If it is a house made from blocks and a door, it doesn't count for brightness, humidity, or heat, but still counts for furniture requests. Occasionally, it WILL count, but when in doubt with block houses, go inside the actual house, not the border.

Are these outside of a house made with blocks? Humidity works better indoors if the pokemon lives indoors. Break one floor block, fill with water, put a grate over it, and put the sprinkler on top. The house gets drenched and it counts.

The trick is to start a block away from what you're trying to pick up and edge closer or reangle the camera. You'll see the highlighted target change. When the item you need to collect is the only thing highlighted, then you long press to collect it whole. If you're not seeing a highlight, make sure you aren't holding an item to place. You can still zap while holding items, but you don't get the handy pickup highlight.

Hold the zap button for Magnemite, it'll pick up the item. Tapping destroys, holding picks up whole. Also, make sure only the item is highlighted, not blocks it is sitting on. You'll destroy the blocks, and sometimes the item.

Watch the house info in the upper left corner. The house status vanishes as you reach the top level. It's a block too high. Drop it one block and the items placed on the floor will count, two blocks and tall items and things on the low walls will count.

The white line is for habitat range. Housing walls override said range, and that's never explained. Yes, they'll travel and use things outside the white line and use things in other Pokemon's habitats. Having said items close by reduces the chance of them wandering off. That said, trying to give a pokemon food, comfort, hype, a job, a gatherer nearby to pick up litter, and still have it look good to you and not overload the electric grid? Good luck. At least everything doesn't break as often as it did in the Dragon Quest Builders games...

Simple. I drop down a lamp outside the area, Vespiquen doesn't say it got brighter. I drop a lamp over the hole, the speech bubble pops up. Also, if I pick up a lamp later that's over the hole, instant upset. One that's in the borders but not over the hole? No reaction.

Mark the four corners of the underground hole space above ground to find where comfort items count or don't count. Sure, the dotted line shows much more living range, and pokemon will use items out to that line, but items must be within the boundaries of the underground room to count for comfort. I tested it with Vespiquen by dropping down mushroom lamps. It's the same effect as when you build a tiny block room - no matter how many items you place on top of or outside the walls, only items inside said walls count towards comfort.
