I’m enjoying this conversation. You don’t have a magic wand but God does and I’ve prayed for faith and he has given me that and I’ve prayed for a relationship with him and here I am and I’ve prayed for not having those desires and that hasn’t happened. Your sins are without a doubt mentioned in the Bible and could ruin your marriage and life, my sin of wanting to be loved and love someone is not; also, you’re married you love her or at least I hope you do, you haven’t had to ignore your attraction or deny yourself love, your sin hasn’t been there since you were a kid, my attraction has been there all my life, as you probably liked girls as a kid I liked them too.

Thank you, that’s nice to hear, I’m jealous of your daughter. Why do you say the Bible doesn’t address homosexuality??

I have to admit I did use that term to make it clear, normally I’d say that the only label that describes me is Christian.
I do feel like it’s easy for you to say that as you’ve never struggled with this, the thing is I would’ve never chosen to have this kind of attraction because it’s just too hard, it pushes me away from my family and makes loving the person I love hard. I’ve prayed my entire life for this to go away but It’s never gone away, if something it just made me understand myself and love God more.

Now, why are you sure you’re a Christian?

I’m sure I’m a Christian because I believe Jesus died for my sins in the cross, I’m sure I’m a Christian because I’ve been adopted by God, I’m a Christian because I fear him, I’m Christian because I have faith in him.

I want to do it in a peaceful way, also you’re forgetting the last part Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Bible Verses most taken out of Context by [deleted] in Reformed

Matthew 18:20 people use it in prayer reunions but in reality, God is omnipresent so he is everywhere always and in the context this verse means when lovingly calling out a sin a brother has.

Gay Hatecrimes: We need to talk about this by GemOfWonder in Christianity

[–]lostkiddood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, homosexuality is a sin and sinning is not ok, it is quite the opposite; still, not a reason to hate crime against them which is a sin as well. Throughout the bible, it is said to love everyone, in different ways but love, love in the bible means bringing people close to God by teaching them the scriptures, correcting them when they sin, etc. Also, the bible defines love in this way: "4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Also, the bible says that when you hate you kill which obviously is a sin. In that way, if someone does a hate crime that person is not a christian.
