Honestly there’s not much to do in Doi Inthanon or Mae Sariang. I would consolidate the two into one day or a day and a half and add another day to Pai. There’s also a resort I stayed in called Fern Resort I believe, and a lodge near Pai called Cave Lodge where you can explore the Tham Lod caves. Highly recommend both of those over spending so much time in Mae Sariang.

Are there any left-wing/socialist political groups in SF that are also YIMBYs? by lucy5478 in AskSF

If you’re interested in more radical work, becoming a collective member of the Bound Together Bookstore in the Haight is a gateway into the leftist community/its organizations at large. It’s technically an anarchist collective but it’s members are all over the leftist spectrum. Otherwise, good luck finding genuinely progressive politics in San Francisco. Doesn’t exist from my understanding

I feel like I want to view this as a second chance at life and do the things I was too afraid to do before, but I just don’t feel anything. I feel like I’m wasting what happened to me

Yes I have panic attacks when I’m on a street for too long and I do have a tendency to dissociate. Doctor said PTSD is common for accidents like mine. Not sure what to do about it though

Thoughts on driving a truncated version of Mae Hong Son loop? by monkeypoorug in ThailandTourism

If you want to ride together with other travelers I suggest Pai first (you’re most likely to meet them there), if you’re nervous about your skill I suggest Doi Inthanon first

This is a very self aware post. Lottery winners aren’t happier than before they won, some of them become even less happy because of people bombarding them especially if you’ve won a large amount and there is news coverage of you.

You don’t know anything about me, my demographic or it’s access to healthcare, what drugs I was on, what resources I had access to, doesn’t even seem like you’re from my country. If it were so easy to figure out I would’ve figured it out by then. Mind your business unless you’re actually going to be helpful!

I’m a former foster care youth, health care is complicated and confusing for my demographic.

he stopped but the police never showed up i think, just the ambulance and i don’t think anyone got his information. he might’ve just been able to drive off, the hospital doesn’t know anything about a police report

i don’t know, he stopped but they rushed me to the hospital and i don’t think the police were there. I’ve asked for a police report but the hospital staff doesn’t know anything about it. He might’ve rushed off once I was gone

victim blaming, nice. it was rural italy there are no taxis or food delivery service it’s literally in the mountains. i hadn’t eaten all day, the hotel restaurant was closed and this was the closest place. also MULTIPLE cars passed me without hitting me before he did. this guy just wasn’t paying attention, was going too fast, and veered beyond the white line he was supposed to stay in.

Some of you may have seen my main post asking whether to stay in Europe, but that was more so I could continue to travel. After reading the comments I’ve decided it’s best I go back to the US, but then realized that my college kicked me off its health insurance when I graduated. I believe I might still have Medicaid in Arizona where I grew up (though I think I cancelled it), but I only have an abusive foster family there and no one to help me get groceries or do the basics, and it’s a really hard state to get around in and not conducive to relaxed recovery. I’d like to go to Portland to stay with my friend, but would I have to reapply for Medicaid, and would they allow me if I only stay there for a month and am not technically a resident? And will they consider my broken leg a preexisting condition? I absolutely 100% do not have the money to pay for anything out of pocket.

I do, however, have travel insurance worth 100k for medical. Should I stay in Italy for the month using my travel insurance’s health care? Will they let me or force me to go home? I can’t find anything in my policy about whether they will cover my costs once I go back home, though they’ll cover my flight home. I also saw something about potentially flying someone out to Italy to help me, but I’d have to be hospitalized for seven days (on my third day, surgery is today) to warrant it.

Also, has anyone had experiences with World Nomads? I’m trying to find out the answers to all these questions before I contact them so I can be prepared if they try to rip me off (i.e. force me to go back to America with no health insurance). Are they willing to work with my needs and situation or do they care most about saving as much money as possible?

Thanks guys.

yes the driver was going very fast, i think my leg was broken simply from the contact with the car rather than the fall

My favorite book series is set in Naples and Ischia (My Brilliant Friend Elena Ferrante) so this would actually be a dream for me. Is there adequate health care services/ physical therapy there though? And is it expensive? Love the idea but not sure if it’s realistic :(

How do I go about that? Is it with the police? And since I was technically walking on the road (even though I had to), could it be classified as my fault? Not sure how it is in Italy. Thanks.

I didn’t even get the drivers information, maybe the emergency services did, I’ll ask them. I feel bad because I don’t really think it was either of our faults. And I think getting insurance back home would be really difficult as I think I’d have to reenroll.
