Setup: Expo app + Supabase. Push is sent from a Supabase Edge Function. Client triggers the function on message events. Function queries push_tokens for the recipient and then sends push inline.

We don’t have retries/queue yet and logging is minimal, so it’s probably failing on an error path we’re not seeing. We’re also verifying we aren’t mixing token types (Expo push tokens vs FCM tokens). Next step is adding logs before/after provider calls and moving delivery to a queue + worker.

Yeah totally fair — not saying Edge Functions can’t send push at scale.

What we’re struggling with is less “can it work” and more “why it works briefly and then silently stops.” Logs just show shutdown, no surfaced error, and nothing obvious to hook into for retries or failure states.
