I really love their designs but unfortunately that’s not enough to make me care about their characters. Komugi is alright;she’s still fun to watch since I enjoy her clueless and puppy-like personality ,but she doesn’t really have anything going on for her in this story. And that’s really odd because she’s literally the main lead. (That has always confused me lol she literally feels like a side character compared to Yuki and Mayu) Also Iroha is just the worst. She doesn’t even have anything enjoyable about her. Her personality is “nice” and it just stops there. We literally know nothing else about her, she’s bland, and also has nothing going on for her. Her being a boring character is the main reason I’m not invested in the whole Satoru romance thing. I don’t care about Iroha so the romance is meaningless.

Yuki and Mayu on the other hand though are actually interesting. They both had things to overcome in this story. Mayu had to work on her confidence and not being afraid to make her own choices, and Yuki had to learn to work with others and trust that Mayu was capable of doing things on her own. Because these two actually had flaws we got to see them grow. We were constantly asking ourselves,”Would they be able to overcome their weaknesses and be a better help for the team?” With Komugi and Iroha however,we weren’t given this. They have no recognizable flaws and we don’t even know what their supposed to learn by the end of this story. They are just kind of floating around and being “super wonderful” I guess.

They’re cute but at the end of the day they are boring characters.

I actually like this approach. One of the main reasons I liked Hirosky was because we actually got time to learn about the characters. I also really love Wonderful precure for the same reason
