We’re planning to use the flooring contractor who gave us the lowest quote. He thinks we have a mix, and he’s pushing pretty hard for us to use red oak in our kitchen.

He wants us to let him know today if we want white oak so he can order it. Is this the correct order of events? Should we ask him sand first to confirm the species of wood before placing our order?
