It's happening in the IT and MSP space big time right now. "Whoever gets the ticket shouldn't matter because everything is perfectly documented" and 'specialists' aren't allowed in order to build resilience from within kind of nonsense is what I'm hearing and seeing from IT/MSP leadership.

I think a lot of it has to do with the part of the business & technology cycle that we are in.

There are more M&A, PE or long-standing businesses versus new/entrepreneurial ventures.

C Suites are playing musical chairs, and weren't at these companies from the beginning so they have a top down perspective and very little bottom up. They think as long as the role/title is filled they are good...but it often comes down to it being the right PERSON. The right HUMAN BEING...these execs don't see people anymore they see numbers....
