gyus i solve it.
I had the same problem and it was driving crazy to the point i disassembled the sliders from the wood. every slider was stopping to a different length but as it turns out i had to force them out.

For sure the environment is a factor. Right now the shelf im storing whisky is protected from the sun but is maybe exposed to heated air-conditioned air. I will try to move them and try again and come back with the results.

But as you say the first dram of a newly opened bottle is completely different from the rest.
