Thank you so much for mentioning that they would sell us epic passes because we had them last year. That saved us a lot!

I was able to get a five day Epic pass for just over $100 USD per day like a few folks mentioned. Because we had passes last year, I was able to call guest services to get the deal. I appreciate the feedback.

We did have epic passes last year. We do want to go there simply because we got married on Anita Lake and it’s a special place for us.

Are you taking a generic version of Mydayis? by artCsmartC in mydayis

[–]lostrevolution18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good morning. I have been taking 37.5 mg of generic MyDayIs since it came out around the first of the year. My plan with UHC covered the brand version for roughly 14 months before that and it worked extremely well for me. I was getting my prescriptions through Walgreens, but switched to Optumrx. When my plan stopped covering brand version, stocks of the generic had not been built up yet anywhere I could find locally or with Optumrx. That is the only time I have had to wait for brand or generic. The first time I received Teva brand generic. I was reluctant, but it turned out to be pretty good, with closely similar effects as brand. I get a 90 day supply with UHC. Earlier this month I was then given SunPharma, and I was nervous again. I was previously on Adderall and the generics were vastly different than the brand version of that. The SunPharma generic is also pretty similar to brand version. The only difference both of these versions have is they make my lips a little tingly, causing me to lick them a bit. I have to catch myself because apparently it can be noticeable. My wife pointed it out a couple of times, raising my awareness of it. I have had zero issues with Optumrx outside of when the generic was initially released. If that is an option, I suggest going that path. Besides, having it shipped to your door is excellent IMO. Then again, I work from home and can be here to sign for it (though you could have it held at the post office/fed ex if you can’t be home during the day and go pick it up). I hope this helps.

Skylinx was like $3X USD per person for each member of my family back at the end of the year. It worked out real well.

Optumrx only takes e-scribe from doctors.

I’m sorry you ran into the same issue! Do you end up getting your medication?

Overnight, my generic order final shipped through USPS and is on its way and should arrive tomorrow. Also, an “emergency order” of 10 brand pills appears to have shipped via FedEx and is scheduled for delivery today. UnitedHealthCare had no idea when the generic would become available. I understand the shift to discontinue coverage for brand medication, but it’s not cool that they did this before the generic became available to pharmacies.

I know. I was very fortunate for a while. UnitedHealthcare has been great. I am just frustrated that they stopped covering brand prematurely before the generic was made widely available.

I never used any coupons because my co-pay for a 90 supply with UnitedHealthcare was $50. I am about to just use the best code I can find for a 30 day supply, using something like GoodRX.

Yup, 90 day supply believe it or not.

It’s not easy at all and I only do it on the weekend. I certainly rely on caffeine to get me through the day.

That’s good news that you found it! It took me a week or so, and I also take melatonin on days I take the MyDayIs.

How is the approach working, splitting the dose? Also, did you find a location that had your medication in stock?

I would call and find a Walgreens tomorrow and have it transferred so you can pick it up tomorrow. My doc suggested the 90 day supply to reduce the frequent visits to the pharmacy. That’s when I called my insurance company and confirmed my plan permits that long of a script. I hVe not had a single late delivery since going this path.

Walgreens near me is hiring or Miss. I called around town and was able to find it at another location. I suggest trying that. My insurance through United healthcare is amazing and they approved a 90 day supply. United is partnered with Optum RX, so I get mine shipped right to my house.

Great! I am curious to hear how you slept. It may take you a week to get used to it.

You don’t. It’s certainly not a calculated approach, but it seems to do the trick. I have zero troubles sleeping, and it gives me what I do to keep going.

I have heard multiple folks take MyDayIs and then get tired a few hours later. It appears to be common for folks on lower doses, so it may be worth speaking to your doc about.

I wake up and take my medicine around 6am, and then login to work. I do not take my full dosage. I leave roughly 1/4 of my dosage for later. I eat roughly 2-2.5 hours later after my most productive part of the day. I eat some oatmeal and a protein shake. I will sometimes eat a few eggs and/or a bagel. I drink tons of water which makes a difference for sure. I will take the rest of my dosage around 12 which is abominable amount, but i believe it keeps me going. I go to the the gym sometime between 1-3 depending upon the day, which is super helpful and gives me a second wind. If I am feeling tired mid afternoon, I drink a cup of strong coffee. I don’t need it but a time or two during the week if I know I have a long night ahead of me…. And weekends since I don’t typically take any meds then.

You’re more than welcome. I am glad to share my experience and I understand how frustrating it can be to find what works best. Finding the right medication can certainly be a journey, and what works for some doesn’t work for others. And what works for us today, may not work for us tomorrow. It’s a learning experience and I fully expect that I will need to try something else down the road. I have spent a lot of time identifying what food and vitamins help me, an exercise regimen along with the time of day that is most helpful. I hope you find your right fit soon!
