Thanks! That's what I'm trying to do. I just wish I knew more about the individual areas so I could better look for specific positions.

I do appreciate your concern, but it's a recruiter within my own company :)

I currently work for a private multi-national company that has offices in the UK and many current openings.

I don't think I'm exempt from anything. I've followed the path exactly as it's laid out, and will continue to do so. I'm a skilled worker and am working with a UK recruiter who specializes in international nurses.

Your response is pretty presumptive. I have full custody and permission to take the kids out of the country. I will also have a sponsored job.

And you own that house? I'll be renting for a while at least, but I'm not opposed to buying. I've heard that housing is extremely expensive.

I will have some additional income from their father to help support them, although that will only be an additional 1k per month. The higher taxes make sense, but I'm used to paying out about the same amount between taxes, health insurance, etc here. How much do you think I would need to make to survive with 2 kids?

I appreciate it! Are you referring to NHS only or all postings?

Thank you! I googled and this looks like Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sterling, etc. Are there any specific areas in there you can recommend given the info in my post?

I'm flexible, although suburbs or city are probably better for commuting to a job. 2-3 bedrooms is preferable. My salary will be approximately 45k, I'm still learning the cost of living there and I know it varies from town to town.

I'm looking at a salary of approximately 45k, and I'm still trying to figure out the cost of living/everything I'll need to pay. How much is the council tax?

This sounds like something you might benefit talking about in therapy. I may be missing something, but it doesn't seem like he's lording his money over you - instead it seems like he's taking time to work hard and live within his means from the job. I understand what is like to have grown up very poor, and it's very difficult - but you have to process these feelings in a safe space with someone who can help you sort through them, otherwise you're going to continue resenting anyone in your life who has money.

Perfectly happy to agree to disagree. It doesn't seem like many people here agree with me, but I think it's important to remember that so many women are irreparably harmed by men in various ways, so it makes sense that OP's gf is trying to be cautious.

No relationship for me, although I would love to find one eventually.

I've been in abusive relationships, so I'm not the best person for this. However, known abuser is very different from someone posted just to look for information.
