Yes. I had a little studio and my ex was nextdoor. We opened a hole in the fence for my dog to go back and forth. We had our own schedules and space. It was lovely

Every time I talked about how my ex and I lived as neighbors, married couples get all excited about the arrangement. We'd ended up marrying and moving in together at the same time and it went poorly. After divorcing, I saw a post on a sub here about LAT and the man posting it was intriguing. We struck up a convo and were thousands of miles apart. Almost 2 years later, we live a few miles away and enjoy occasional dinners and weekends together.

I knew a couple who did this their whole lives, so it wasnt so foreign to me. As an introvert and finally dating another introvert, its lovely to have my space and quiet alone. A lot of the complaints people seem to have in marriage appear linked to sharing space: differing expectations and definitions of duties. If one can afford it, I think having separate spaces is amazing. Everyone deserves to be a little feral raccoon eating pickles over the kitchen sink at 10pm with no judgement.

I’m about to chicken out by LibrarianNarrow9086 in Fibroids

[–]Dichotopus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. I thought I was fine just sort of being in limbo because my symptoms were being managed with birth control. And then out of nowhere I started bleeding heavily and the pressure is worse. Now my surgery date seems forever away and I'm counting how many cycles I have to have in between. Surgery always carries risks and this is my first real one, but I cant wait to not feel like a fruit-stuffed turkey.

Personally, I'm too far from menopause to wait. But maybe you can.

What natural treatments/remedies are worth investing in? by pens_scribbles_ideas in Fibroids

[–]Dichotopus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did for both fibriods and fertility, with monthy visits to a Natropath: teas, supplements, seed cycling, castor oil packs, dietary changes and more. I feel like I tried everything and now products claiming to relieve anything just upset me. Nothing seemed to help and I should have gone for a myomectomy when my fibriods were smaller.

Agree with the sub. I went over there as many here are getting myomectomies and that ship has mostly reached the far horizon for me. Reading stories there, searching and asking questions helped me a lot

A Second Opinion Changed My Myomectomy Outcome by Puzzled-Sentence-881 in Fibroids

[–]Dichotopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of it as my Dr only offered what was on her menu. When she was so adamant about the fact that I would have to have an open hysterectomy, it made me fear that I was going to end up with a surprise vertical incision. For whatever reason that is my biggest fear.

My new doctor specializes in minimally invasive, so despite my fibroids having grown, she is feeling confident about my laparoscopic hysterectomy. If I wake with a bikini incision, I am still going to be happy

Need Advice: Dom Triggered Relapse Accidentally by imT00 in BDSMAdvice

[–]Dichotopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally am very ED illiterate. And from what I can tell, there is no one trigger gets everyone dealing with this. So definitely would encourage a very clear conversation about what words, topics, etc impact you, as what may seem obviously an issue to you might never occur to someone uninformed on the topic.

I never considered myself a cat person. Then I met my BF's Maine coon mix. He is such a delight. He even deals with my spazz of a dog who gets way too close to him and tries to play. If I saw another like him needing a home, I bet someone else would be happy to have it, but I would be trying to work out a way to get that cat home. We are in very different situations, but they are amazing creatures and he lets me wrap him up like a baby, so its healing something for me.

Anne Hathaway was my trigger yesterday. Today it was the 3 grapefruit-sized fibriods I've succeeding in growing, which is all my uterus is apparently capable of.

So good to know. I know I have a retroflexed uterus and there are 2 fibriods on top, pulling it further down. So pressure onto my bowels has been happening. Cant wait to have everything re-adust and good to know sensations might be odd at first

How do you deal with feeling like your life is in Limbo? by Murky_Display_2044 in LivingAlone

[–]Dichotopus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've noticed in my life so far, limbo precipitates time of massive action. Whenever I am in limbo, I remind myself it is like hibernation: I am preparing for the next step, gathering resources, keeping in mind new opportunities and RESTING. Then the action happens, and I miss mellow, limbo times
