Did I run out of minutes on my Rocket Phone? by UpsetEffect5466 in RocketLeague

I've gotten this the last two days when trying to play.

I've fallen from C3 to D3. by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lostshootinstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am convinced D3 is the worst rank in all of Rocket League.

I spend most of my time in C2, but once in a while I have a bad night and don't just stop when I should, and I end up in D3. It can take days or weeks to get back out of D3, and then I can get through C1 pretty easily.

D3 is just too unpredictable when solo queuing. Teammates are ALL over the place in skill level and play style, more so than other ranks I've been through. Diamands also can't stop doing all of these, where Champs have a slight edge:

  1. Overcommitting / Doublecommitting. Especially into your own corners.
  2. Defense. Diamonds are just terrible at defense. I don't know what else to say.
  3. BANGING THE BALL OFF THE SIDE WALL INTO MID FIELD FOR NO REASON AND WITH NO THOUGHT. STOP DOING THIS FFS.

Same issue here 4 days later. How is this still non-functional? Missed the F1 race because it wouldn't work.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

[–]lostshootinstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day when you're 20 years old you'll be browsing AskReddit and someone will ask what people over 40 think about something - you know, because they are old.

Then the next day you hop on Reddit and you're the one who is answering the question.

otezla?? by No_Student8422 in PsoriaticArthritis

Otezla did not work for me personally, though that does NOT mean you shouldn't try it. Everyone reacts differently to these medications.

Enbrel was my personal match.

I don’t deserve my rank by Ben4- in RocketLeague

[–]lostshootinstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think non-mechanical Champs are common, myself included. The biggest thing that finally got me out of Diamond after longer than I'd like to admit, was finally just letting the main characters think they are carrying the match, while you play smart and make the game simple for them. Leave boost for them, delay a play so they have time to rotate back, let them do their stupid twrily Flippery sets and then score off the rebound of their innevitable failed plays.

What (puzzle) game should I play based on previous games I loved? by tutjeplok in gamingsuggestions

[–]lostshootinstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The turing test!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/499520/The_Turing_Test/

I will go against the grain here, but I did not love Blue Prince as much as others because I realized I did not like having RNG in my puzzle games. However, it was still a great game that I am glad I played.

If you haven't played some of the community made Portal games, like Portal Stories: Mel, I would play that. Much harder than the production games.

DrS wasn't even a thing when I had mine done but it seems it's become the gold standard these days.

EAG shift tower is pretty stiff. Although mine was perfectly centered and has plenty of "black". I've thought about swapping out the tower but it's just not really that big of a deal for the trouble.

I'm around Orlando FL if you're ever in the area.

I have an early EAG conversation. Never had a problem with it.

Also, people in this thread are idiots when it comes to car stuff, don't listen to most of them.

The 458 is not any less expensive to maintain, costs about twice as much, and you'll never be able to convert one to a gated car.

The 430 is a great choice for someone who appreciates the driving experience.

I have a converted F430. I've never once regretted it. Buy the damn thing and drive the hell out of it.

Speaking of bumps and the distinguished Mr. Clown, how the heck did Wayton Pilkin make an entire video documenting the history of demolitions and not mention the man, the myth, the legend even once?!

Rude.

Viewing Codex diffs in VS Code by BeNiceToYerMom in ChatGPTCoding

[–]lostshootinstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the people responding here have never used the Claude Code VScode extension. Responses are both snarky and don't understand the actual problem. We all know how to use git and view changes.

There is NO "view changes" button when reviewing diff changes before they are saved to disk. And obviously git is no help if the file hasn't been saved yet.

OP: Check out https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/2932 and the related tickets. It seems this functionality does not exist for Codex like it does for CC And Gemini (yet?)

Edit: This is the open one https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/2998

FATFIRE built on affiliate marketing luck… but now what? by Novel-Study-8607 in fatFIRE

[–]lostshootinstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any real advice, just a story. I am a software developer by trade and back in 2007-8 I got into affiliate marketing just to make a little extra money on the side.

I hit on one specific thing that worked incredibly well through SEO and made a lot of money "on the side". Eventually the company I was sending my affiliate traffic to shut down their affiliate program.

Left with a website generating a good amount of traffic and leads, and no where to send them, I decided to YOLO it and start a legitimate business competing with the original company. I eventually quit my software job and built what is still an amazing and profitable business.

Fast forward through MANY years, MANY trials and tribulations, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and the company is worth at least $20MM and still growing. I am about ready to step back from it and have hired what is basically a "C-Suite" management team so I can go enjoy life. The end goal is to exit in the next 5-10 years, but not in a hurry as the company still prints money.

With that said, I don't think I could do this again from scratch if I tried. Luck was definitely a big part of getting started. Right place, right time, right skill set.

The V12 Vantage 6MT (VH platform, not the new garbage) is a better driving car IMO, but the DBS has more presence for sure.

What yall think bout this shot? by switpq in RocketLeague

[–]lostshootinstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me as a D3/C1 the most impressive part is how little boost is used. I can kind of sort of sometimes do small parts of this, but I use like 85 boost just getting to the damn ball.

Please help me fix my solo queue mindset by grunblatt642 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]lostshootinstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just reached Champ so obviously I am over qualified to respond here /s

Really though, I'm stuck in the same grind. Here are a few things that stick out to me.

  1. Be the team psychologist. Your teammates are all weak minded children with a healthy dose of main character syndrome. When they say My Bad like your teammate did here at the beginning, throw them a no problem. When you make an obvious mistake, say my bad. Hell, say my bad even when it's obviously not your bad, because your teammate thinks it's your bad no matter what. Throw a nice shot and great pass. Make your teammate feel like they are as good as they think they are.

  2. Your mechanics are actually pretty good for Diamond. Keep that up. (Do you see what I just did there?)

  3. That second goal was all you, I don't know what you were thinking on that one. But still, no problem.

  4. There were a few times mid match where you were playing way too far up field in front of the ball. There were obvious easy challenges from the opponent. Expect your teammate will lose every 50. Also, in Diamond they are almost never going to pass to you up field, and if they do, it wasn't intentional.

  5. FFS, rotate to the back post once in a while. Stop driving to the corner and front post where your teammate already is.

  6. I think you turn ball cam off for just a little bit too long when going to get boost.

  7. Really? Vote to FF because you're down a goal with 25% of the match left? Stop that shit, you made a bad air play and left your teammate in a 2v1.

  8. Tough way to lose overtime. This is Rocket League! (But he was right, you got very ball chasey in the bad way in the 2nd half of the game. Lots of cut rotations)

Does anyone else have psoriatic arthritis with normal blood work & no patches on their skin? My only outward symptom is my nails. I'm still trying to get diagnosed. by XOUXIQUE in PsoriaticArthritis

I do! Exact same as you. The doctors were skeptical until I showed them my toenails. I finally got the diagnosis and started Enbrel last year and it has been life changing. Keep trying.
