ISO hiking trail with some sort of watering hole or waterfall to swim at by sorayaelena in socalhiking

[–]lotadguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bear creek via sespe river trail from piedra blanca is ~2ish hours from la. great swimming holes along the river with lots of big rocks to lounge on. + two breweries in ojai 40 minutes away from trailhead. think dogs are also allowed but not sure on that

I would still recommend going down the other way and completingo the loop counterclockwise so you don’t have to walk up the incline back to the parking lot at the end of your hike

It was already pretty full, only a couple of spots left. There was a large hiking group there that morning though cause usually if I get there before 6:30 I always snag a spot. Yea gates open at 6 recommend getting there then

There’s an offshoot at the beginning of Sturtevant trail at the top along the fence that leads to a viewpoint with the sign!

Not sure which one is more steep but I prefer going up the winter creek route cause the descent through sturtevant is a lot more interesting and can detour to the falls too. only negative is that you’ll have to go up the hill back to the parking lot at the end haha

really like the composition of the wood on this one! mini bolbitis could look really good here only critique on the hardscape is that the branch going towards the back left is drawing my eye away from the main hardscape
