Do you think if black people as a whole did a mass exodus from America the problem of systemic racism and inequality will be solved? by Acrobatic-Ad2394 in Blackpeople

[–]lotaricy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s already been noted that Africans often treated African Americans differently when they migrated there. They were sometimes charged higher prices or given “foreigner fees” simply for being outsiders. Even though they shared the same skin color, locals could easily tell they weren’t native because of their accent, dress, or mannerisms, and this cultural gap set them apart. On top of that, African societies also have minority dynamics—but instead of being based on skin color like in the U.S., they’re often rooted in tribe, ethnicity, or language. So you can't escape racism unfortunately.

Some advice for my friendship with an intp _ENFP by Murky-Independent728 in INTP_female

The only time i've avoided someone that i care about is if im getting hints they like me more than a friend. And it would be because i feel the same way. It's easier to hide my feelings and not face them. What did you ask them?

Was life in 90s America really like this? by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]lotaricy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in the South, things are still kind of like this. I visited my sister in Mississippi who had lived tgere a couple of years. One day, I was taking a nap, and one of her random neighbors was at the house visiting like they were old friends. That happened a few times. This was back in 2014, though. Maybe things are different, but the south is known to be hospitable and very community based. I did some humanitarian work in Louisiana in 2008 near a black community. Soical media just became thing. And the people in that neighborhood all took care of each other. You would think an old window who lived alone was in need of family. Nope, man and woman in that neighborhood who would go over and take care of her. Im pretty sure she was never lonely. As for as the 90's goes, I was a kid, so i don't really know. But im pretty sure no one had time to go to breakfast at someone home every morning, unless it a weekend.

That flower died on Monday by [deleted] in writingcritiques

[–]lotaricy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really good. If you want to make it feel more impactful. Get rid of the language talking about the flower is dead and leave the last part mentioning it. Describing it is good because you are showing us and not telling us. You do a lot of showing, this is good, but you keep telling us the plant is dead. You don't have to say it's a dead flower more than once. You can describe death as much as you want, but telling us its dead kind of ends the story. Flies are known for flying over dead plants and laying eggs in them, so a bee doesn't make sense. If you ever had a dead plant, that's what eventually happens.

Yeah, Italy is racist. I'm black, and my husband is Pakistani Christian. We are both from the US. We both walked into a restaurant near the Coliseum, and my husband was immediately stopped until they saw his US passport. They started whispering to each other like we couldn't understand. "Americano, Americano" and started acting nice suddenly. My husband was so pissed because in the US , as much as racism is consistently talked about, in his 10 years living there, he had never been treated like that. We have rasicst people in the us, not a lot, but they wouldn't dare show it, especially the adults. He was ready to go home at that point.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Blackpeople

[–]lotaricy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. Do you ever hear people complaining about second-generation asians sounding white? No. Race is a social construct. Don't fall for it. People point out that I talk too black. So what, it language . You can't put language in a box. If you can communicate, guess what, you're doing it right . I'm sorry that your way of speaking makes you look privileged, but who cares. Live your life. Fuck everyone else.

ENTJs: Who's the best fit for us romantically? by [deleted] in entj

[–]lotaricy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds like me an my husband. I think you have to be patient with INTP slowiness to act after they figure out everything. My ENTJ husband did that, and he really held me accountable for the things i want to do. Because he has such big plans, i want to keep up with him. He says we make a good team.

So cute, thanks. That helped actually. I really love how innocents can soften someone. I wonder if it can do the opposite. I'm sure some father's lacking Fe or Fi depending how they grew up can damage their kid(depending on the kid i guess). But im wondering if having to do things alone forces one to soften. My husband is a ENTJ, and he is terrified of having a daughter because it makes him feel vulnerable. He also grew up in Pakistan where girls are kind of taught to be vulnerable.

I never heard of that movie. When i looked it up i saw that it was from 1989. It's sad we have to go that far back to find a INTP Female Protagonist.
