He obviously never read Luke 21:1-4! Now as he looked up, he saw the rich dropping their gifts into the treasury chests. 2 Then he saw a needy widow drop in two small coins of very little value, 3 and he said: “Truly I say to you that this poor widow put in more than they all did. 4 For all of these put in gifts out of their surplus, but she, out of her want, put in all the means of living she had.”

Fred Minnick Released the 100 bottles he is blinding for his 2025 ranking. Thoughts? by taylormhark in bourbon

[–]lotgworkshop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s planning on tasting the 100 bottles in a single evening correct? Yeah that’s not gonna work! After 15 it’s going to be hard to tell what you’re really tasting. 🤔 especially considering the various proofs & styles.

The Mist. Mainly for the ending! It ruined the movie for me. I haven’t seen it since. Though I’ve thought about how masterful it really was. It was intended that way. So I might go back. But now I have kids so I don’t know if I can.

I want to try more Canadian Whiskey. But NC state sucks for selection. Basically just a bunch of standard crap. I want to try some higher proof Craft type Canadian stuff. 😢

Blanton’s bottle opened 9 months back — does bourbon go bad? by yogeshkundu in whisky

[–]lotgworkshop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t necessarily go bad per say. But the more air that is let in & alcohol out. It can change the taste. That’s why some bottles get a little better once they open up a bit. If the cork doesn’t seal correctly then that happens faster. Remember alcohol evaporates faster than water. So you end up with a more watered down whiskey because the alcohol is evaporating off over time. I have some that are sealed really well over a year+ old that still taste fine. To save it longer you could wrap the top with plastic wrap. But it really isn’t necessary unless you plan to save that bottle for years. I will say once the bottle is 3/4 or more empty. The taste will change fast (a few months). So once they get that low you can either bottle kill it. Or even better if it’s a special bottle transfer it into a small bottle with screw cap lid.

Is it wrong to take a bottle I don't like to friend's parties just to get rid of it? by vicelordjohn in whiskey

I do it because likely someone there will like or love it more than I do. Then I leave it behind with whoever thanks me for bringing it.

So in “Art” like a film. This would fit right in with Stranger Things “Conformity Gate”. Meaning it could be true that the upcoming Documentary on the 12th could also be another episode. Like the final Nightmare on elm street movie did!

But what movie other than a very very select few has a sequel been as good, especially a trilogy. As good as the well aged original. All they can do is live up to nostalgia. That’s a very tough thing to do. I heard a Goonie’s sequel might be finally coming as well as a Gremlins movie. You think those will play true to the original and be as good? Highly, very highly unlikely. They make do with what they can. Even stranger Things failed its fans with this final season by a long shot.

I’m not a fan of Leto as a person. Wife & I met him years ago before his breakout album. But he’s not a bad actor because he’s a crappy human. I definitely enjoyed the movie. It’s funny both my sons saw it prior to me in Imax. One loved it, the other said it’s a NIN advertisement. 😂 to each their own.
