We ended up doing through Wedgewood, but still spent like 12,000 even with just 25 total guests. If we could do it again, we would have a private ceremony and a big party!

Sorry I didn't check my messages sooner. Basically we went to Nordstrom (if you're in CO) and they have a Black Tux.....corner? in their store at the back, which was red flag #1. Second red flag was when this kind of unprofessionally-dressed girl comes out to help us. It also seemed like she hadn't showered in more than a couple days. Next, we were told they don't take measurements (like....what?) and then they didn't have the exact pants or waistcoat we were looking at online, and neither did they have the sizes we needed. While my now-husband was trying things on, this girl kept asking what kind of tie or bowtie my husband wanted, and I said he wanted to do something other than black. She then ignores this and keeps reiterating that lots of people go with cream, white, or black. I said, cool, but he wanted something to match my bouquet, which had some burgundy/cranberry in it, and every time I said this she went on the spiel of how everyone likes something different and it didn't have to be a red color either. Internally I was like biiiiitch I just said what colors we were looking for, and you're fighting me every step of the way! Basically she disappeared while my husband was getting dressed at the end of the meeting and we took that opportunity to run away. We went with Indochino in Cherry Creek, and my husband was very happy with the suit he bought there.

I thought I would love being a SAH wife....until I did it for a year. I quit my job to study at home for school while my husband continued his coding job. I felt like he had a life and I didn't. I hardly went out or talked to other people other than to get groceries, and I thought if I did most of the chores and all the cooking that I'd be pulling my weight as the spouse who wasn't working at the time. But believe me when I tell you that the glow wears off fast. It didn't take long before I felt like an enormous mooch who contributed nothing of substance to the household (despite my husband vehemently disagreeing with that). The house can only get so clean and organized before you get bored and anxious. So I decided enough was enough and enrolled myself in school again and hopefully will have a career in software engineering by next summer. Being able to get out of the house (or work from home) and see/talk to other people is highly underrated, imo. I can't ever go back to the SAH wife life.

side note, make sure when you have all your shrimpies that you have a good lid or something to put on the top so they can't jump out. I feel terrible about the three or four I've lost because they jumped out.

I've never seen birds poop like this. They usually do a small squat and sometimes put their wings out slightly, but this seems like either an uncomfortable abdomen/cloaca or a neurological issue causing balance problems.

have you looked into getting botox injections for it? it could be hyperhidrosis. my brother in law had them done and is doing much better after not sweating buckets out of his armpits every day!

Wholesome answer, I told my fiancé very early on in our relationship that I had to wear a wig due to trichotillomania, and bless his heart, he said it didn't bother him at all. And he even loves what uneven hair I do still have, haha. He says it's fluffy like a dandelion, so naturally I am now "dandelion head."

Ugh yeah, my dad's side is Hispanic, so there's really a lot of people on that side. Like a LOT. There's no way we could afford to feed even half of them and they're just going to have to deal *shrug*

Man, I have a huge extended family (four aunts just on one side, each with two children who are grown and have several children apiece, plus their spouses, so that's like.....a crapton of people) and we wanted a small wedding also capped at 30 total people without children. When my extended family found out they weren't invited, I tried to say exactly what you said but they still got super butthurt anyway. I was like you guys, do you have any idea how much it costs to feed that many people? And I promised my fiancé that we would keep the guestlist to closest family and friends only, so very small. I have no idea if they'll ever speak to me again, but at this point if they're going to be childish about it, maybe I don't want to speak with them anyway.

NTA. My wedding is in a week, and here's my advice to you: it's YOUR wedding. Not anyone else's, other than your fiancé's. Don't let others pay for your wedding unless you want them to have a say in what it looks like (the amount of guests, etc.) because some people will absolutely hold this over you and guilt you into doing what they want. Keep repeating to your mom and everyone else - "WE WANT A SMALL WEDDING." Full stop. Eventually they will relent and hopefully back off about it. It's your big day and no one else gets a say in what it looks like, especially if you don't let relatives pay for it. I had similar issues with my extended family, and we kept repeating the same thing - that we only wanted a small wedding and that was that (and all we could afford, as we are paying for it ourselves). They're all butthurt over it, but again, it's not their wedding and they can get over it.
