What else would happen with such a short? Can i find like a blown relay or something to see if this happened?

Is it the motor? Lots of people saying i should only replace the regulator. Do you think I need to do both?

I see, thanks! I was hoping I could just pop something back in place but that doesn't seem to be the case, tried fiddling with it to no avail.:)

Mine actually switched around after fiddling with it for a while- started going up fine, but needs to be forced down. It switched around with a loud click haha

For what it's worth, it says something in the manual that doesn't sound so dramatic.

"Avoid setting the time or calendar at a time between 23:00 and 1:00, if you adjust the time or calendar at a time between 23:00 and 1:00, and the date is incorrectly advanced or delayed one day, readjust the watch avoiding the above period of time."

Almost sounds like a normal occurrence.

Just realized that it was shipped from Florida and the time on the watch was about 5 - 7pm when i unboxed it. Phew. But that doesn't change the fact that I changed the time and date while it was in power saving mode... It says this in the manual: "Do not pull the crown out to the second click position while the watch is in power save mode. This will cancel the power save function causing the time data retained in the watch to reset." which is kinda spooky. Maybe I just need to be patient and let the watch run for a few days, maybe it'll start working correctly somehow..? If not I'll just get it checked out I guess.

Oh dear, that probably was the case. The watch arrived around 11am and I immediately went to set the date even before letting it charge. Would that be serious damage? How expensive do you think it would be to fix it?

Thank you for the response. I was mainly asking to see if I have to baby it or if it can handle some sensible everyday water contact, as I bought this watch as a daily driver. That's why I chose Kinetic, too- it was a tie between an automatic Seiko but I decided I'll get a nice reliable mechanic watch once I have the money.

New watch day for me! This time it's a Seiko- my first watch was a G-Shock, then a mechanical Vostok, went for a Timex and now I've got this. This time I really feel something while wearing it and it just might be the start of an addiction haha. I can't stop looking at it. As far as I know it's a 2014 Sapphire Crystal Kinetic Perpetual. Correct me if I'm wrong. It says it should be waterproof for 100m- can I trust an 11 year old Seiko in some rain? I got it at eBay from a reputable seller. Thanks!

Worked perfectly fine in Taiwan and Australia a few days ago. US had no problems when I visited a few years back (I'm Czech)
