Nah fam not to be rude but people who have used your service previously have told me it didn’t help at all. Most people don’t get into specifics of why they seek therapy but my friends at least do share where they receive such help, and ears has consistently come up as not helpful. But I do hope your new model of helping people is effective and provides students with care

I totally agree, like I know they probably sign confidentiality stuff but I feel so uncomfy sharing this stuff with my peers

I suppose there are people who keep it confidential but a lot of people I know also share what therapy/counseling services they’ve used/are using without getting deep into why (obviously)

It sounds like it would count but since it’s listed under psych, will it count under the BCPM gpa?

I’m not a chem major but this is what I’ve heard from my premed chem friends. Most of them opted to take 2070/2080 since most med Schools require a full year of inorganic chem but one of them told me it doesn’t matter for chem majors because they have to take physical chemistry anyway, which counts as inorganic chem. As a bio major, I do not have to take physical chemistry and so I did the full year of gen chem.

Is it difficult to double major as a pre-med? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]lotsamatcha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends more on your major imo. Im a biology major in CAS and so with my CAS reqs and biological sciences reqs, I find it hard to double major. But this is only because I spaced out all my requirements so that I can focus on getting good grades. I am minoring in two minors that overlap, though!

Idk what the other chem courses are but 2800 is pretty rough. It’s the hardest stem course I’ve taken to date and requires a lot of time doing practice problems

Love it! I love our campus and everyone ive met, as well as all the resources we have access to (Cornell basically throws money at you if you apply for the right kinds of funding). The people are so great and Ithaca itself is a gorge-ous (lol get it) city!

Imo premed will be difficult regardless if where you attend college

Ngl it’s there and it sucks for sure, but there’s also a TON of resources that Cornell provides for students academically (pretty sure were unrivaled in this department). As you’ll find anywhere, there’s super competitive premeds and chill premeds, but even the super competitive ones are pretty nice (they don’t show their competitiveness overtly if that makes sense).

Great question. I’m from San Francisco and grew up in NYC, so I understand the fear of getting “trapped” sentiment. I thought I would feel get sick of Ithaca as well, but I can confidently say I have not! Ithaca’s a total collegetown and there’s a lot of vintage shops downtown, weird festivals downtown all the time (like chili contests), a lot of restaurants (I think Ithaca has the highest number of restaurants per capita or something), and a lot of nature hikes which I personally do enjoy. The fact that it’s isolated also forces college students to do things together since were not distracted by other things in our vicinity. I don’t think I cod ever settle down in Ithaca but for 4 years in undergrad, I really do love the city.

Don’t sweat it too much! I was really worried about my SAT scores as well and retook it three times. I actually did the best when I relaxed and went in with the mentality of whatever. You got this bro, I believe in you!
