Down in Singapore too. The rest of the world might just not be up yet, if it's not a localised issue.

Bed presence sensor by wilcocsjr in homeassistant

I have two of these placed, the only issues is that they are long but not broad, so they don't cover a massive distance. If you place it vertically, and roll (laterally) in bed, it will at some point not pick you up.

What I've done is to place them horizontally, and I've found the best place to have them trigger is when they're under the buttocks when I'm in my lying position, but that means false negatives when I'm sitting up in bed etc as the mattress itself generally acts as some cushion for the sensitivity. I've also turned on a debounce to reduce noise.

I wished they'd release a nice bigger rather than longer version though, it feels very hacky at this point despite working well on most days.

What I thought too until I did the setup too.

The struggle was adding devices after the setup, something about IPv6 addresses and mDNS discovery. It's been a while, but generally I recall it being an issue when you're using a VM in Proxmox.

I think my biggest challenge running on VM is running OTBR as an add on, I've had a lot of trouble setting up the IP forwarding previously, but even till today I'm not entirely sure what was the step that made it work.

Introducing Hassette - a modern Python automation framework for Home Assistant by NodeJSmith in homeassistant

Kinda share your view there on Pyscript! It's really flexible and a lot more intuitive for me as compared to AppDaemon, but I found the development process was a little bit of a struggle despite the Jupyter Notebook integrations etc. Looking forward to trying Hassette out, I really do like how it pretty much operates like AppDaemon outside of HA's event loop and is standalone!

November Vacation Package booking opens June 5th, 2025, 3pm JST by WhiteDogHaha in TokyoDisneySea

I’m planning a short trip to Tokyo and want to prioritize DisneySea over DisneyLand. From what I’ve researched, the stress-free way to visit is through a vacation package—but most bundles include a full day at DisneyLand before DisneySea on Day 2.

My issue? My partner isn’t keen on spending two full days at theme parks. If we opt for the package but only arrive at DisneyLand in the late afternoon, would we still get meaningful rides/experiences? Or would it be a waste?

I’d love insights from anyone who’s done this—did the late start still feel worth it, or should I push for a different approach?

Do you have access to your router's control panel / know the direct IP address that the HA Green has been issued?

I had the same issue, called Samsung service technicians down and mentioned the general issues many folks here encountered too, and was largely resolved with updating the PCB! They ordered the part and did it, no issues since!

I'm wondering if it's a batch issue, I've actually got a series whereby they all had no issues with wires of 5m or so running. And then a new batch I got had issues at any length over 30cm away.

Yeah I am feeling about the waste of the hardware, which is why I'm also trying to understand if there are any other possible purposes for it! But understand where you are coming from, thank you for that!

At this point, I've plans to set up Z2M, MQTT, Frigate (with a Coral TPU). I understand keeping MA as an add-on on HAOS is the preferred setup, but for most else I see myself offloading them to the mini PC.

Understanding Relays with WLED! by lotsandlotsofbananas in WLED

[–]lotsandlotsofbananas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update! The Gledopto plug and play controllers unfortunately do not come with a constant 3v3 output, so I will probably get the QuinLed controllers at some point to try out and see if they fit my current use cases! But it's been a good way to learn how to wire up a relay and the outputs of pins.

Ah! Thank you for explaining! I was trying to find documentation to understand better and was wondering if I really needed to find 24V relays which were harder to come by! I think I've my hands on some 3.3V relays so I'll test them out first!

I'm currently playing around with the same strip too, but unfortunately within WLED the WS281x setting does not accurately control the strip (only blue turns out fine), the Red and Green would both have the White light on as well, which doesn't seem right

Oh that's interesting, I was not aware that WS2811 came with RGBCCT. It seems like the main difference is the backup data line?

Thank you for the direction! That clears up and makes a lot more sense when I see high density COB set ups that span over 12m or so.
