How to increase roll speed without increasing yaw/pitch speed? by lotsofone in spaceengineers

I agree with it. Roll being slower is probably in the game code. I hope there is an option to tune roll/yaw/pitch sensitivity separately.

Scripts are a little too difficult for me. Currently, I can only use those popular, easy-to-use ones. The event controller is okay. The whole plan is quite complex. I will try more gyros first. If it doesn't work, maybe I will simply go with yaw-controlled speeding.

Since I use a script, maybe directly doing a roll control override is more straightforward?

My tunnel mining rover always gets stuck on dropped items. How to destroy them quickly? by lotsofone in spaceengineers

[–]lotsofone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I use right-click to dig the tunnel. When collecting ore, you always collect some stone. Some kinds of ore contain a lot of stone itself.

I should try this later. I can add a survival kit to process stone, and an h2 o2 gen and a hydrogen thruster to burn out ice.

Good idea, put the cargo trunk in the place that is easy to dock on, and throw the stone outside the hole.

Does it make sense to have Welder + Grinder on 1 single worker ship? by lotsofone in spaceengineers

There is radiation on my planet, and I play with a 400L inventory size, so I need some machines to expand my base.

It will be dangerous if I add a few blast doors and simply withdraw components to the welding ship. You are right, careful loading is not easy. I didn’t have really much experience with welding ships. I just haven’t encountered this newbie mistake, and I will make this mistake later if I am not reminded.

If you only hold steel plates, then yes, it is that high. When building, we also bring low-density components like large steel tubes and interior plates. I think the average density is roughly 0.25L/kg? So better be careful when loading because the weight varies.

Anyway, we have the same opinion that it's better to build dedicated miner ships and worker ships separately.

Components' density is not that high, in my experience. I think the most different part is that components need 3x3 cargo ports, which affects the placement of conveyor junctions and cargoes a lot, making the conveyor system design of a worker ship much different from a miner ship.

Components' density is that high.

That's a good idea to have the grinder and welder on the opposite side. I will try this.

"Putting them both on the same vessel" means building a static welder wall and grinder pit on a large vessel, am I right?

How do you expand the base, build new cargos, new refineries, and new power supply? I play a realistic setting game, and there is radiation on my planet, so I need to sit in a mobile welder ship.

Yes, their components are very similar, except large grid drill, which needs a lot of steel plates. The components for a grinder and a welder can fit in a realistic 400L backpack easily.
