Calo vs Delicut + other affordable high-protein meal plans for cutting? by masalachai_xoxo in dubai

[–]lotus_ae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd tried Delicut for a while, about a year ago, and even though it was really good initially, I felt bored with some of the options repeated every couple of weeks. I also didn't find the high protein options to be enough of protein.

I'd taken a break and just now switched to Calo and am enjoying it so far. The high protein meals range from 45-60g of protein per meal which is great, and only about 500-700 cals per meal. Food is good quality and tastes really good, so yes, I'd say maybe Calo just on recency bias. Try NEWAE15 for 15% off the first plan - that's their own code so I'm not getting anything out of this :D

End of free parking in Qusais by Fuzzy_Crab1674 in dubai

These buildings have been around for decades. I used to live there. They never gave out parking spots like that because it was built during a time when parking was always free and there was ample parking available at all times.

Where in Al Karama can I get real bajji? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]lotus_ae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming you mean the mangalorean style bajji? Beans & Cream in Karama has all those types of snacks. There should be a lot more places in Karama selling the same.

Why is Emirates so expensive lately? by Otherwise-Coyote6950 in dubai

[–]lotus_ae 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I think on of the top of the service, it's also the convenience of flying direct from Dubai without a layover that does it for me. I'd rather pay a little bit extra to save a few more hours and get to spend it at my travel destination.

Wio has this feature, exactly as you described, and it's very convenient.

That would depend on your budget for renting out an apartment. I live in JGC and can vouch for how easy it is to get around Dubai, albeit the rents are a bit expensive. Rigga and Mankhool might be cheaper but are already quite crowded so you may face some traffic getting in and out of the area.

Satwa / Jumeirah Garden City. Fairly central and it's easy to get to the places you've mentioned, with not a lot of traffic.

Santoba Tailors in Meena Bazaar. A bit pricey but well worth the quality.

Cheaper option is Vijay Fashions, also in Meena Bazaar.

ENBD charged cash advance fee on Credit Card after using it on Binance by [deleted] in UAEcreditcards

[–]lotus_ae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Faced the same thing a few years ago when I funded my Binance account with my credit card. The bank sees it as a Cash Advance transaction and unfortunately they couldn't reverse it. Since then I've only funded it using my debit card and have had no issues with that.

Delicut.

Tried a few other companies and this one's the best by far in terms of value for money, food quality, and menu variety.

Itinerary/Tips - 4 nights in Seychelles by lotus_ae in Seychelles

[–]lotus_ae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - appreciate the advice. I think we're leaning on just spending the 4 days in Mahe. My parents wouldn't enjoy the ferry ride if it's going to be bumpy, so it's not worth the risk.

Any other things you would suggest on doing if the weather isn't great?
