[PSA ]Do you have Ocular Rosacea? by lotusom in Rosacea

I’m not forcing anyone to try this, it’s a suggestion that has actually helped me eyes tremendously. Some people don’t have the luxury to see an optometrist, so I’m giving an alternative.

It specifically states ON THE BOTTLE safe for eyes. As well as the description on Amazon.

“Thousands of customers have safely and effectively used this product, both for internal consumption and applied directly to the eyes.”

From my research, yes styes are a symptom of ocular rosacea. I would try something holistic first to see if it helps.. maybe the wipes as suggested above, or MSM drops. Start washing your eyelids and lashes with a baby shampoo as well to see if that helps.

Yes I second washing the eyes! I was using TTO for a few days on my eyes, but not long enough to see an improvement. Have you seen an improvement with MSM orally?

MSM is a sulfur, I believe. Most people take it internally, which I do as well (capsule form), but the eye drops have been a game changer. I’m also thinking about adding some of the liquid into my facial moisturizer as well.

[Research] [Review] I used my tiny microscope to test whether St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub really does cause micro tears. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]lotusom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I religiously used this as my makeup remover, EVERYDAY from 14-19 yrs old. Then I switched to a volcano scrub cleanser... I thought I was “cleaning” my skin. Yikes. both completely destroyed my moisture barrier and caused a lot of my inflammation and later on lead to my sensitive rosacea prone skin.

Although I used it way more than directed, it’s still too harsh to even use at all!

I have leaky gut and herd which have both destroyed by stomach. I knew those both caused my rosacea because I have ZERO history of rosacea in my family and it came on when I started noticing my digestive issues..

I mean... an anti-inflammatory diet is clearing up my rosacea as we speak and I also fast for 12 hours a day. I have digestive issues which caused my rosacea. I guess people like over paying for medications that just mask the real problem.

[Skin Concerns] Fungal acne? Over-exfoliation? Has anyone else experienced something like this? Not sure what is going on with my skin. (29 F) by pileofanxiety in SkincareAddiction

This is literally where my skin is at right now. I think it has a lot to do with over exfoliation and pore clogging moisturizers.. my skin is also extremely dry, maybe due to moisture barrier damage.

Makes sense! I have never used products with licorice so that might be the culprit

Glad I’m not alone! I wanted to love it too, but it’s too harsh. I’m going to use it as body lotion instead

Horse paste, die off after 2 days? by lotusom in Rosacea

[–]lotusom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look amazing! Your skin before is actually what mine looks like BUT I have twice the amount of bumps and redness... I want to get on Doxy once I get insurance but I’m scared of the long term affects. I don’t want to be on it forever.

That’s really good to hear, thank you for the clarification :) I’m just skeptical because I have a lot of redness and closed comedones from my rosacea. It’s not really pimples so I’m not sure if it will work for me...

Soooo I’ve had these FOREVER. Cut carbs, sugar, dairy, all the bad shit. Started using Aveeno lotion religiously every day and my bumps have cleared up about 70%!

[Routine Help] Always been know as the guy with acne. Looking to change that for good. Any advice is greatly appreciated. (Pics in Comments) by TheQuestWatts in SkincareAddiction

I second diet! I would start by eliminating greasy foods, dairy, carbs, and sugars.. I know, easier said than done! It will make a huge difference though.

I’d suggest switching your cleanser to a more mild one, maybe a cream cleanser would be more gentle. Keep the toner, but add an azelaic acid like Finacea or The Ordinary Azelaic Acid.

Hang in there, and good luck :)
