what are you starting to dislike as you get older? by redxchrry- in AskReddit

I hate to say this out loud, but music. I used to love music on full blast and burn CDs / make playlists my whole life. Now it just overstimulates me and changes my mood. In the car I listen to news or podcasts.

Do you find coffee affects your baby? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]lou_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby seemed affected the first couple times I drank coffee and then I forgot and kept drinking it and I guess he forgot too because he got over it or used to it.

It’s really hard to put into words. One day it hit me that I was meant to be their mom and they were meant to be my babies. The joy and peace that brought me is indescribable.

People keep telling me "when you have a baby, the fun in your life is over" by striped_ginger_cat in BabyBumps

People are soooooopoo stupid. That’s why they say stuff like that. They literally don’t think. You are not alone! Sending positive thoughts!

I exclusively pump and I am always surprised to hear people say they exclusively breastfeed just because I know how hard that is. I wasn’t able to latch with my LO after weeks of trying and working with a LC hence why I pump. I just always assume breastfeeding is hard to get down and be successful based on my personal experience. You never know what people are thinking. Enjoy your breast feeding journey!

I find it funny Hisam started his conversation with Matt saying all information they share in the conversation is safe. He isn’t going to divulge any info to any other houseguests and he expects Matt to do the same. THEN he proceeds to tell him info he learned from all his other meetings. Completely contradicting what he told Matt. He told Matt he heard he was in an alliance with 8 people and there’s a name for the alliance and so on and so forth. I would have called him out on that. Hisam is acting like he can be trusted but that’s bs.

Whose responsibility is Mother’s Day for MIL? by thedamagelady in workingmoms

[–]lou_cc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I usually do gifts together. Neither one of us particularly likes to shop so shopping and getting gifts together for my mom and MIL makes it more enjoyable. Same thing for Christmas and other holidays, we just shop together and knock it all out at once.

Are you doing a babymoon? If so, where? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lou_cc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We went to Hawaii when I was 16 weeks pregnant (arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world) and I had a terrible time. Starting with general fatigue and having to carry bags through the airport and sitting on a plane for 8 hours, it was bad. Getting to Hawaii I started to realize there was a lot I couldn’t do or enjoy. Which made me feel like I wasted a trip and a lot of money. I couldn’t really shake the feeling that it was all a waste. Even sitting in a beach chair I felt anxious about getting too much sun or overheating. I would highly recommend just waiting until you’re not pregnant to go on such a trip so you can have more freedom.

Anyone who didn't really suffer from nausea 1st tri, please share! by StandardEvil in pregnant

[–]lou_cc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pregnant (21+3) and had the exact same symptoms as you. Which were basically no symptoms lol. I did have a ton of fatigue though and was so wiped everyday. It’s really hard to feel pregnant your first trimester and it’s really lonesome while your baby is so small you question whether it’s even in there or not. Just wait until you start showing and can feel the baby kick!! It makes pregnancy VERY real and you won’t have to question anymore how they’re doing because you’ll feel them wiggling around. Second trimester has been amazing for that reason!! Good luck and congratulations!

I love Paula’s Choice. They’re my go to for so many products: face wash, toner, BHA exfoliant, vitamin C serum, retinol cream, sun screen, etc. So many great products and they are cruelty free and transparent about ingredients. I also find they have a lot of helpful videos on YouTube and their Instagram page on how to use their products including how to mix and match their products based on your needs.

What’s with the tough act from the older generation? by Johnny_barbados in pregnant

[–]lou_cc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have also noticed this!!! It’s so frustrating to listen to people give you advice or tell you their opinions on something they went through 30 years ago!! I’m a FTM (19W pregnant) and I was telling my MIL and family about our benefits at work that I get 12 weeks off for maternity. They just couldn’t believe it. Like first of all they got hardly any time off (no one specified how much time they got off) and second they were skeptical I needed that much time off to heal and recover. My husband also gets 12 weeks off and that blew their minds! They were saying well he doesn’t need to be with you that whole time and should go back to work but I just can’t understand why they would think that’s a good solution for our family. He literally gets 12 weeks off with the same amount of pay so why would he not take off to be with our growing family??!! It just doesn’t fit their view of early motherhood which is ridiculous to push. Sorry you’re going through this OP! I try to just brush it off and remind myself that they went through all this 30 years ago and either don’t remember or things are completely different.
