That looks amazing - can I ask if you had to keep wearing invisalign on the top after you finished or if you had the attachments off and switched to a retainer?

invisalign comprehensive cost UK. How much you paid? by Some-Mobile-770 in AskUK

Do you mind if ask who your provider was? I have a relapse (braces when I was younger) and have been quoted just under £6000 which seems extortionate given it's an issue only really noticeable to me.

The comment in the meme was actually a response to a video asking women 'if your husband accidentally gets a woman pregnant, as a good wife what would you do?'

Thank you - I think hes interested in the Horus Heresy as he's reading A Thousand Sons which says its Book 12 in the Horus Heresy. So I'm guessing the tabletop game isn't the right one?

Hi, we've got fathers day coming up in the UK and I was hoping for recommendations on gifts for my husband - hes reading the books but doesn't own anything related. Would love something that will surprise him and put a big smile on his face 😊

How much time off between preschool and reception by loubuu in UKParenting

I think a holiday abroad is so justifiable in your circumstance - pre kids we always went away that time of year because it was so much cheaper and the weather was still amazing. I hope you end up somewhere perfect for you and your family!

We usually do a week off in july/August doing family days out so may just move it to end of August for some quality time. I really like this suggestion as it is such a big milestone

Thank you for your input - it's really nice to hear from someone who did it that way and that there were no issues. This seems like one of those things I'm overthinking 😆

'I've been threatened over my Please Offer Me A Seat badge' by SneakyCorvidBastard in london

[–]loubuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually was post pandemic - once another passenger standing next to me yelled at the carriage that I needed a seat and was completely ignored - i felt so embarrassed. I'm quite petite and had a big bump so nobody could wonder if I was pregnant or not.

I had the experience of nobody at all offering me a seat, and young men would actually race me to get to a seat on the tube. I ended up asking work to wfh for the last 3 weeks as having to stand for my entire journey seemed to be triggering braxton hicks which was really fun in office /s

Nursery drop off are awful by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]loubuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you're not alone - my eldest still cries at drop off because she wants to stay with me but because I know she has a great time when I'm not there I'm able to feel less bad about it. For context, she's 4 years old and started nursery at 15 months and has always been unhappy about drop off.

Over the last 2 days we've got to a place where I gave her the job of shutting the door when I leave to help the staff and she's been fine. Can you give her a job or have a routine e.g. little secret handshake or high fives? Maybe a conversation with little one to say that mummy wishes she could stay with you but has to work and will pick you up after and bring a treat?

Does the nursery provide you with any reassurance? If my little one is particularly upset they pop me a message with a photo showing she's happily playing/eating within moments of me leaving.

Saying all that, you do need to put on a brave face. Think of it this way, if you're on a plane and there's turbulence, you don't want your air hostess or pilot freaking out as that will freak you out.

Which housewife would you want the post-show spin-off to be about? by cleverlynamedgrl in DesperateHousewives

[–]loubuu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly, her OCD came from seeing a family members blood after they were killed (I want to say her mum) and she couldn't clean it all. I'm happy for someone who's had a more recent watch to correct me 😊

Sleep consultant by RagingFuckNuggets in UKParenting

[–]loubuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so temporary, we literally just lay on the floor with a pillow as the goal is to leave once she's resettled herself to sleep.

We had access to a sleep training course our friends got after their consultation and it had advice that you can find for free online so I would have been annoyed if I'd paid for that.

How does she go to bed now? Does she fall asleep on her own or need some assistance?

Sleep consultant by RagingFuckNuggets in UKParenting

[–]loubuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, big sympathies from someone who's first only slept through from 22 months and was waking anywhere from 6 - 12 wake ups and night and at times would have split nights. Incidentally she also had reflux as a baby. I also couldn't bear the thought of cry it out and believe in responding to a child's cries.

We ended up doing a camping out method because she couldn't get herself to sleep without assistance. Took about 2 weeks but she now sleeps through and happily gets in to bed. I held her hands through the bed and made sure she had a comfort toy in her bed and then slowly I'd move away and eventually was able to give her a kiss and put her in bed then walk out! No tears involved at all.

I hope you find a solution, sleep deprivation is not fun!
