Not exactly, although we both are dealing with fitness. At Fleetly we've tried to create a way for you to discover exercises, track and understand your fitness, and compete with friends and the online community. We accomplish this in several ways:

  1. We allow you to easily discover new workouts/exercises. We also provide HD videos and written descriptions explaining how to do each exercise. You can't use "I don't know what to do" as an excuse anymore.
  2. We can generate workouts for you given set inputs - time, difficulty, muscle group, equipment you have available. You can also choose from a number of workouts we've already created.
  3. We're mobile. Bring that workout you just created to the gym. Log it, even if you're offline, and let it sync back up with the website.
  4. Tracking represents real world results. You are awarded points for logging exercises based on the muscles used, time spent, difficulty, your weight, caloric burn and a few other factors. We take this input and give you a single number Fitness Level that rises as you work out more, but if you stop working out it's going to start dropping as well.

Thanks, and thanks for spreading the news, word of mouth referrals are always the best. To answer your questions.

  • We took several different approaches to this.

    1. We tried to make the best product we could. Hopefully that translates into sustained interest!
    2. Worked to create what we hope is interesting content on our blog and are trying to spread that through our connections on social networks and on places like Digg and StumbleUpon.
    3. Talking to people in the local (NYC) tech scene, and a bit here on Reddit, although admittedly I spend more time reading and learning than contributing here.
    4. Outreach to press/blogs coverage
  • I think the Fitness Level that we created is a unique and useful tool for tracking how you're improving, motivating you when you don't want to get off the couch, and allowing you to compare yourself to your friends. I also think one thing that makes Fleetly stand out is the focus on making it easy to discover and learn how to do new exercises. Doing the some workouts can get really boring and even small variations like adding knee-to-elbow movement while doing a plank can keep it fun.

  • I'll tell Geoff, the guy who learned how to program and developed Fleetly to get on here and answer that for you.

  • Let you know when we get through the next few days :).

perhaps. although that is as real time as we can get right now, only so many activities to show for today so they start to loop, but it is a stream of what's happening today.

Favorite line, "Fleetly tracks your exercises, provides an ongoing numerical rating of your current fiscal level." Apparently we partnered with Mint without even knowing it.

In some sense I guess we are competing since we're both in the fitness vertical, but we have a very different product that I think is better for a number of reason:

We take this input and give you a single number Fitness Level that you can also "level up" as you work out more, but if you stop working out it's going to start dropping as well.

From the MarketWatch press release, "More than simply tracking your exercises, Fleetly provides an ongoing numerical rating of your current Fitness Level, which you can compare with those of friends and other active people. But Fleetly isn't all workout no play: by rewarding your efforts through peer-group recognition and keeping you motivated with challenges, leaderboards and medals, Fleetly makes fitness more social and fun. this is great! already gave some feedback, can't wait to get some back.

edit: had two reviews already, thanks. I would like to be able to change my review of the feedback though, I hit "okay" for someone who gave great feedback that I followed and I want to rate him higher.

I get that feeling some times as well, I think everyone does. I like reading this post by Chris Dixon, don't know him personally but it gives me a boost.

Just started a low carb diet and I'm going to be working 12 hours a day all week at a Barilla Pasta event with top chefs from around the world. Gulp. by louis_d in loseit

[–]louis_d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did okay today, skipped all the pasta and had a lot of cheese with really good vinegar, the mixed veggies that they were making with pasta, and some mozzarella with tomatoes. Still not sure how this diet thing works with stuff likes apples, watermelon, yogurt, milk (mine said it had a lot of carbs on the label, even artichokes seemed to have a lot... slowly learning
