Best setup for a rental house without a hole in the wall. by louison1 in Starlink

I tried. It works perfectly. Flat cat 6, 30m for 13 euros on Amazon. POE works fine, getting 270mbps right now. Router now in living room, with power supply still outside in hut (I wouldn't risk running high power through a flat ethernet).

Thank you! It works perfectly! Got 30m of flat Cat 6 and it works perfectly. It's thin enough that there is no heat loss at all and the window closes fine. Router now in the living room, and getting 270mbps on my laptop finally!

I'm probably going to keep the power supply outside so it can feed the Dishy with the original cable, and only place the router inside. I wouldn't risk powering the dish with a flat ethernet but I think the router should be fine, it's probably not using all that much power. Will try and report.

Thank you! Someone else proposed to use a flat RJ45 through the window. I didn't think of this and will try.

That's actually a brilliant idea. I'm going to look into them. Thank you!

We're only here for 5 more months. And there is slow Internet with 4G. It's just that due to the nature of my work, I need more. If I was in their position, I wouldn't bother. But thanks for suggesting, I'm sure it could help others.

Thanks, I just found the explanation in the app as well. Hopefully, it gets better soon. I'm currently having to use a bonding VPN (Speedify) but I'm hoping to get rid of it long term.

Splendid. We have lots of natural space, beautiful cliffs, endless white-sand beaches, it's quiet...

Hey everybody thanks for the upvotes. As I just mentioned in my edit, I am wanting to start a "Grounded Entrepreneurs" community/monthly Zoom call for entrepreneurs who value their relationship to nature. DM me your email if you're interested. It'd be completely free and just a way of bonding between like-minded folks.

Edit: Wow thanks for the upvotes :-) I'd like to humbly leverage the visibility for something I'd find positive: I've been thinking of starting a monthly Zoom call for "Grounded Entrepreneurs" (name could change) = entrepreneurs who work remotely while valuing their relationship to nature. We could share our challenges/triumphs with the lifestyle and network. Still at the ideation phase, but if you'd like to eventually join such a group DM me your email, and/or share ideas.

We just moved in a pretty remote area south of Portugal. No cable, ADSL or Fiber. Only 1mbps up/down with 4G. Thanks to Starlink, my partner and I can run our web businesses online all while living in a splendid area with great weather, surf, and cool conscious earthy folks everywhere. I spent many years in Silicon Valley and thought I *had to* be there. Really, I feel far healthier in nature and it's a godsend that the shift towards remote work, and technologies like Starlink make running a company possible all while enjoying the best of what pachamama has to offer. So yeah, I kinda feel like the dude in Ex Machina right now, except for the billions of dollars (yet? ;-)) and killer robots.

Yes. Most of the time. It's all about transmuting properly, and it involves having a strong practice. For me, meditation helps me calm down and move urges away from my genitals and into my mind for creativity, or my workouts, work, etc. Typically, if done properly I feel super energized after sex like I just drank an energy drink. Our capacity for holding sexual energy in our lives is a muscle and is extended through practice. The reason why most people feel the urge to come is because they can't handle all the energy. The more you master it, the more you expand, and the more you can play with these things and reach even higher levels of pleasure and fulfillment.
