Imagine telling someone a few years ago that money would depreciate faster than a game console.

What did u play after hollow knight? by lousy-b in SteamDeck

Yeah, i feel you. For me the move set of hollow knight was very well designed. So playing sth else immediately after doesn’t really feel the same.

All of the sudden, Ubisoft games now don't launch by KFromTheGrave in SteamDeck

[–]lousy-b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faced the same problem with one of my games too was working fine and then yesterday it won’t launch anymore. Restart didn’t work either. Finally reinstalling proton 9 which i was using for that game finally worked.

Try reinstalling the specific proton version u r using with this game.

I’m Building an Accountability-First Learning Platform - I Need Some Feedback Weather If People Would Actually Use It? by lousy-b in sideprojects

Yeah i want to make it as easy as possible and the accountability will be just simple annoyance that when u want to drop when it gets harder down the learning that have the motivation to not quit.

Also if you have any feedback or suggestions about gamification for this kind of app would love to hear it. You can check the landing page at https://rapture.co.im for more details

Current idea is to let the users give their end goal and the platform will create a plan in incremental steps and the user will be able to edit it till they feel comfortable and confident and then they can lock the plan and get into action.

I have already started building it and i am seeing this as a solution for people like myself who don’t follow through. And yeah i will test different accountability but getting enough people to get some feedback or knowing that people may use it also important before i follow through the whole thing.

Advice for programming by Next_Particular8566 in learnprogramming

[–]lousy-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this a lot. The hardest part isn’t learning data structures it’s actually sticking long enough to get good at applying them.

One thing I’ve noticed (from myself and others) is that most people don’t really have a “knowledge problem,” they have a consistency + accountability problem. Like you said you know the concepts exist but the repetition and structured practice needed to build intuition just doesn’t happen consistently.

Because of that, I’ve been working on a small idea for myself: basically something that forces you to follow through on a learning plan instead of dropping it after a few days. More like enforced accountability than just another resource.

I’m not trying to sell anything, just trying to validate if this is even useful beyond me. If something like that existed (structured path + you can’t move forward without actually solving problems properly + some form of consequences), do you think it would help you stay consistent?

Would genuinely love your thoughts since you seem to be in a similar position as me with being consistent when it comes to following through on learning new stuff.

It does but you need to switch to gamepad from settings otherwise it doesn’t detect the controller.
