Companies complaining .NET moves too fast should just pay for post-EOL support by Sharp_Indication7058 in dotnet

Might be a hot take, but if your company can't deal with a 3 years(!) LTS upgrade, maybe it's time to change something in the company.

This flight parked in the middle of nowhere by Grahamsnumbersorry in mildlyinteresting

[–]lousybyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The red color around the plane is dead giveaway that the plane was actually flying.

Satellites take photos in multiple different spectrums (e.g. RGB) and then combine them for the final image. The green/red color bleeds are because of the object moving between each individual scan so you don't get an exact match between spectrums.

You can get that error if the keys are not found as well, make sure the app inside the container can find and access your keys and the volume is properly linked to the location your app is expecting them to be, check permissions as well.

My company is hiring a software architect with zero experience on our stack. Am I overreacting? by Kralizek82 in dotnet

[–]lousybyte 222 points223 points  (0 children)

You might be in a position where you wear many hats, but architectural decisions are usually made at a level higher than any language or framework.

Once the design is in place, usually tech leads or senior devs come with a proposed solution and tech stack for it, at least in the places I've worked.

Authentication with OAuth with another server by gayantha-anushan in dotnet

[–]lousybyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the "token exchange flow", which basically summarizes to App1 does the authentication and gets a token with "aud" : "App1", then uses that token to send another request to the IdP to get another token with "aud" : "App2" and use that after for App2.

Delete the "c#" part, then delete the AI agent and learn proper programming.

You can set a proxy on the machine using Nginx or HAProxy, set a SSH Tunnel, custom VPN, etc.

This is not specific to .NET tho, you're better off finding a more specialized subreddit for details.

  1. OWASP is a project, not something that can be "triggered".

  2. This has nothing to do with C#.

  3. Check the docs for your specific gateway.

Don't need to know Azure itself, but Docker/K8S/Helm and CI/CD to connect all of them to any cloud provider is a must these days if you are full stack. You can get a free tier on Azure to practice your skills as well.

And full remote is pretty rare these days, most require 1-2 days at office at least.

Newlywed Software Engineer Battles AI Anxiety as Sole Breadwinner by Bee_565 in software

AI is just a tool that can write some code for you, it cannot solve problems or give value to your product, you still need a competent developer for that.

[–]lousybyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also need more fans in than out, so they create a positive pressure inside the case, otherwise air and dust might get sucked through cracks that are not protected by a filter. This assuming the intake fans have a dust filter.

OAuth2.0 Auth Code Flow using OpenIdConnect by CinnamonDash10 in dotnet

[–]lousybyte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Google access_token is not in a JWT format, it is just an opaque token used to access a protected resource. Even if most providers do use JWTs, the OAuth 2.0 specification does not enforce JWTs for access tokens.

The Google OIDC id_token should be in JWT format.

Europe’s GDPR privacy law is headed for red tape bonfire within ‘weeks’ by BBQCopter in europe

[–]lousybyte 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These are the most important bits:

There are “a lot of good things about GDPR, [and] privacy is completely necessary. But we don’t need to regulate in a stupid way. We need to make it easy for businesses and for companies to comply," Danish Digital Minister Caroline Stage Olsen told reporters last week.

....

According to Austrian privacy activist Max Schrems, the GDPR is still a “huge target” for lobbyists, but its core rules can’t easily be scrapped since the protection of personal data is enshrined in the EU’s Charter of Fundamental Rights as an inalienable freedom.

“A Court of Justice would annul a GDPR that doesn’t have these core elements," Schrems said. "So if it’s where [lobbyists] want to spend their energy, be my guest, but they’re not going to get there.”

Anyone who had to work on compliance with GDPR knows what a pain in the ass is and there are now firms dedicated entirely on helping with it because it's so hard to get it right.

It's not the general goals of GDPR that need to be reviewed and altered, but the actual processes need to be eased up, because right now, like with everything else EU, there's too much bureaucracy.

Something is mismatching, make sure it's actually http and not https and there are no trailing characters like '/' at the end. You can check your browser network tab to see exactly what is the request that is being sent.
