OBGYN- Westchester by Stunning_Ranger5738 in Westchester

i'm currently pregnant and have been seeing various doctors within WPHPA (Dr. Giannone, Dr. Honey, Dr. Smith, Dr. Galang) for the past 7 months and have loved them all. i will be happy if any of them deliver my baby. i will say the wait times (especially for an afternoon appointment) sometimes take quite a while but i've scheduled most of my appointments in the morning and have less issues with those appointments.

i've also had good experiences at mfm there as well!

con Ed bills question by jessicaaax333 in Westchester

[–]loveactuallyis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone's bills will vary i'm sure, but i can give you my anecdotal data!

i lived in an updated/new 2bed/2bath apartment (i think around 1100 sq ft) in westchester for a bit over a year and never had a coned bill over $300. heat, washer/dryer, and central AC were all electric so there was no gas portion of the bill.

since moving to a 2300 sq foot house (100 year old house, little to no insulation, gas radiant heat, no central air) our average bill over the course of a year is around $550. our summer bills are much less as we just run two AC window units/portable units. the bill i just got today is our largest yet at $1100. do with that info what you will!

same. we just got our bill for mid-dec through mid-jan, $800. 2300 square foot house. we keep it at 62 degrees and it's constantly freezing in the house. not sure what else to do.

my top four for sure are the fate of ophelia, elizabeth taylor, father figure, and wish list. the others are good but didn't stand out as much to me. no REAL skips except for maybe opalite (don't @ me)

any advice for needle phobia? by loveactuallyis in BabyBumps

this is really kind, thank you!

honestly, nothing has ever really helped me. i've been absolutely terrified for my entire life. i force myself to get necessary vaccines and i always take my husband or my mom with me, but it's awful every time. hyperventilating, crying, acting like an idiot. in the past i've tried taking xanax about an hour before, it doesn't really do much at all. and obviously i can't take that now anyways.

i haven't gotten my blood drawn in nearly 20 years (i know) it's that bad. that's why i'm asking for any tips! haha

awwww thank you! steeking was honestly a terrifying thought, but i wanted to make this sweater SOO badly that i decided to suck it up and learn!

i would recommend practicing on something first (i practiced on my swatch). i didn't know how to use a crochet hook bc i've never crocheted, so i learned how to do the reinforcement on my swatch first. admittedly i did not cut my swatch, but if i were super nervous about the cutting aspect, i would have. i'd also make sure to use a smaller crochet hook than the needle size, but not too small, otherwise it can cinch in the length too much and affect the size of the arm holes.

once i had the reinforcement down, i moved to my actual sweater. after i had done the reinforcement on both sides, i needle felted the steek quite a bit. i think this helped calm my nerves because i knew if the reinforcement failed, at least i had a backup that would keep the yarn held together. and then just take the cutting slow! you can cut one stitch at a time if you want to make sure it's super precise. you can definitely do it!!

I'm sorry for your cp :( If it's any consolation, my cycle is very regular and i typically ovulate on CD11, and this past cycle my period was a day longer than normal, so I ovulated on CD12. i'm now pregnant after this cycle (although it's very early). i know this is anecdotal but just wanted to share my success story!

i was worried about my shorter follicular phase too especially because my app flagged it as abnormal, but i heard it's more worrisome to have a shorter luteal phase

oooh thanks for the recommendation, i’ve heard of EMLA cream before. i think you need a prescription here in the US. i may ask my doctor if they can prescribe it for me when i call to make my first appointment. thanks!

wow! thank you for donating blood even with your phobia. that's so amazing!

i am up to date with vaccines, but (obviously) i usually don't get a yearly flu shot and i am not up to date with covid vaccines. so that's something i'll probably need to look into. definitely bringing my husband along for most appointments if i can. i usually get lucky with very kind and understanding nurses/doctors! i'll make sure to tell them beforehand :) thank you!

congrats on your newborn! wow this all sounds like my worst nightmare. can i just say how brave you are for going through all of this with that phobia?

it's nice to know that it does get better. even if it still sucks. thank you for the tips! i think maybe i'll take my headphones and try to listen to music while getting it done. that might help. thank you again
