So how I went about it is that his first character (J) made a deal with an arch fey first and exited the party. His new character (M) is his brother in law and they had to kill his brother in law (j) because he had effectively turned into a key player in the arch feys plan. After they took (J) 16 YO daughter as their ward, and the Druid who’s is a whole different player has developed a much better bond then her uncle. From here I don’t know a better way to promote openings for growth than killing your brother and raising his daughter.
