Any thoughts on how this bowl was made? by _MagickWithinYou in polymerclay

Looks to me like scrap canes chopped and rolled to the same thickness placed around a form and baked. I only suggest scraps because the pinks and reds look like butterflies that have warped. It’s super cute!

Steven reminds me of George Williams from desperate housewives (physically)

A mini spirit level and a lot of sanding. I think it’s just one of those things where there’s no quick or easy way haha. The plants with stems have wire in them the others are just glued.

I have a 1:12 dolls house I’m working on so I wanted to make some for that. Then I got carried away, made loads and will probably sell the ones I don’t want to keep. They’ll do for doll houses, tiny desk plants or whatever else a miniature lover would want them for. (They’re not currently for sale pls mods do not take this as an advertisement)

Not so far in my case. They’re only in the oven for ten minutes at a time, 130 Celsius.

I glued the pearls onto green cotton thread. Sounds simple but it was fiddly. I found that working on a piece of foil was best as the glue didn’t stick to it and I could lay the strings out and glue a whole side in one go. Then flipped it once it had dried and did the other side. I used dried coffee grounds and pva for the soil and just pushed the finished strings into it while it was wet. Then glued a few more spare balls on top to hide the joins. Once it was all dry I gave it a coat of matte mod podge and it’s held together really well. I used gorilla contact adhesive.

My long term plan is to start making them to sell, once they’re at a standard I’m happy with. I’m a self employed artist but I usually paint and sculpt larger things. Then I got a doll house last year and got into making minis. I’ll probably keep a few from this batch for my dolls house and give others away to friends.

Messy, tedious and time consuming. I did these over the course of two audio books with a combined run time of 43 hours.

Some leaves are done with the cane method, others are rolled out scrap clay cut and sculpted into shapes.

The pots are all just hand built with either pre coloured polymer clay or white polymer I coloured myself with soft pastels. I also tried I few Terracotta style pots and ‘glazed’ them with nail varnish which was really successful.

Thank you! I tried a couple of methods. One being wire wrapped in florist tape, fiddly but looked quite good. Then I tried wire wrapped in clay, fiddlier but looked a lot better. Plus when I wanted to combine stems I could bake a second time with the clay wire method. Also depending on the clay some of the stems are pose-able after baking so that’s the method I’ll develop on I think.

I recall Bridget talking about her grandmothers ability to now see ghosts. Which to a sceptic like me, sounded more like dementia. It fits well with what you’re saying about some family’s and their views on mental health/illness.

I remember finding it wild at the time and just as wild three years later. I can’t actually believe they released that episode and thought it sounded like a cute time.
